Very disappointing visit. My partner and I were looking for some food and cocktails and, having visited many slug and lettuce’s across London, thought that Hanover street would be a good place to go.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by a bar member who rudely asked if we had made a booking and then informed us that due to reservations we could only sit upstairs. We saw multiple people coming in and sitting down at unreserved tables, so we found this strange. We went upstairs only to find that there weren’t any lights on at all. As another small group had been sent upstairs, the bar member then appeared and turned the lights on.

We ordered via the app and twenty minutes later our food arrived, cold. We had not received our drinks and when informed the server of this (who brought our food) she proceeded to do nothing about it.

Ten minutes later, with no sign of our drinks, I ended up having to go downstairs to the bar and ask for them, as well as handing back the cold garlic bread. There was no apology for this, only ‘it isn’t our fault because your ticket didn’t come down to us’ yet I watched them making orders for everyone else through the online system no problem…

Another 20 minutes go by without any sign of the garlic bread, so I go down to the bar again. Five members of staff at the bar, I was the only customer standing waiting. I was ignored for almost ten minutes, not one member of staff looked at me. Only when another customer appeared did they try to serve and luckily the man pointed to me saying I was first. I notified them that we still had not had our garlic bread. At this point, a member of staff went off to the kitchens to find it and brought it over.

The garlic bread was clearly frozen (as it was still hard and frozen in the middle) and had not properly been reheated. We gave up at this point, choosing to go elsewhere. This is the worst service I have ever received in a London bar. Avoid and go anywhere else, even the weatherspoons in this area would be a...

We reserved a table for two at 5pm on a Saturday, really glad we did and strongly recommend the same for others visiting. Due to how extremely busy it was, naturally it was very loud, so take this in consideration if you have a hearing impairment/disability. The tables are quite close together and it can feel like you are on top of each other.

We used the app to order our drinks, unfortunately we had to visit the bar to enquire where our drinks were after waiting 30 minutes. I am not sure if the bar is short staffed for various of issues or simply under staffed….

We ordered Christmas special cocktails which were not included in the special offer of buy one, get one free. Therefore we would expect the standard of the cocktail to appear what it is advertised in the menu, but this was not the case. We had to complain about our drinks, and thankfully they were remade for us. A shame they weren’t made how they should have been initially to have saved the inconvenience here..

We also ordered food but not all meals were available and again it was some time to wait for food. Food itself, was ok, nothing special.

The toilets and stair case leading down to the toilets were really untidy and smelly. There was toilet roll scattered on the stairs and the toilets weren’t pleasant to use. Appreciate it is a high street pub as such but having extra staff and just other basic upkeep would make a lot of difference….

Some simple basic tweaks of requirements needed here for general overall...

Came for a bottomless brunch yesterday. I’ve been to this one (and other S&L’s) before for bottomless brunch and never had an issue, but yesterday was really disappointing. Service was pretty fast, and don’t have any complains over the food, it was as expected, but the drinks were absolutely terrible. First round ordered a sex on the beach, came and tasted nothing like it should, and after several rounds of warm, diluted or bad tasting cocktails, we asked the table next door what they had on their table, as their cocktail looked okay (and had ice in) … apparently that was a sec on the beach too, although absolutely nothing like the one we first had. We re ordered it and got something completely different again. Drinks were just terrible to be honest, half didn’t even have ice in, one round we ordered was forgotten and left before our slot was even up, super...

The food is alright. Bonus points for presentation and even more bonus points for the Staff. Very, very friendly, professional and always trying to help. Unfortunately my experience was a very unpleasant one and I have tried for 3 weeks to fix it without any results. Basically I got double charged for a simple burger with chips and onion rings due to their app having troubles processing a simple payment. Then the lack of mobile service inside the location didn't help either. Wasted 10 mimute trying to order. Do not use their app under any circumstances. You're much better off if you order at the bar. I will personally never return to any location because of this experience. I will also make sure I won't bring anyone else here either because I don't wanna put them through the same waste of time I went through, trying to recover my money.
