The Spotted Horse on Putney High Street is simply one of the best pubs in London! From its cosy Christmas atmosphere to its perfectly cooked pub food, this place has it all. My friend Marygrace and I enjoyed their classic burger, which was juicy and flavourful, accompanied by perfectly crispy chips. The setting is warm and inviting, with painted panelling, a wood-burner, and super-comfy seating. The pub manager, Eddie, is incredibly friendly and makes every visit special. Whether you’re here for drinks (their handcrafted cocktails are amazing) or a hearty meal, you won’t be disappointed. Definitely one of my favourite spots, along with The Half Moon, Putney’s iconic rock 'n' roll pub. Highly recommend for a festive visit or a year-round go-to pub experience!

Great service and good food. Nice ambience and decor. The most impressive thing I have to say is the service. Our waiter was very friendly & helpful especially with my friend who has food allergies. He brought out the allergen menu and also double-checked with the kitchen. The outside of the pub looks old but the inside is very modern but also warm & welcoming. We had the blood orange G&Ts which were superb. I had the chicken tarragon croquettes which were delicious with a great dip. The spiced lamb scotch egg was missing spice and the dip tasted a bit strange - perhaps just not to my taste. All is all highly recommended, definitely worth visiting and trying the food.

The Spotted Horse is my absolute favourite spot in Putney! I come here all the time and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, the food is consistently delicious, and the drinks are fantastic. Edison is always amazing — super friendly, attentive, and he always makes us feel welcome. The service here is second to none, and you can really feel the care and attention in everything they do. The food? Still, without a doubt, the best in Putney. Whether it’s for a casual drink, a nice meal, or a catch-up with friends, this place is always my go-to. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

After having had drinks and some snacks in the Spotted horse from 1 pm on Friday 25 January with four of my friends, I needed to pay a visit to the gents lavatory in the basement of the building and I have to tell you that it was so cold down there it was like spending time in an ice box.

When I came upstairs again at 2:30 pm I reported this fact to one of the male staff who up until then had given us very good service. In response, he merely shrugged his shoulders indicating he could do nothing about this, so I asked him why he didn't suggest reporting my complaint to the manager. At this juncture, a young female member of staff appeared from somewhere nearby and in an aggressive manner, immediately accused me of not being polite and furthermore wouldn't listen to anything else I had to say. I then returned to my group of friends.

However, after a brief pause and apparently not satisfied with this, she then had the audacity to come across to us from the bar and began in an extremely authoritarian manner to harangue us all with more of the same. I told her she was very aggressive and left by myself shortly afterwards.

My group of friends and I have decided we will not be returning to your very nice and thoroughly comfortable pub while this young woman is employed there. If she normally deals with customers in this manner she is most definitely in the wrong job. It's a great pity because up until that point we had been enjoying ourselves in this most attractive pub and which I had now been re-visiting after having spent time in it regularly on Saturday evenings...

I am a refugee from the Duke's Head where the service experience has descended into chaos over the past months. Yesterday at your establishment it was equally chaotic, with slow and haphazard service at the bar, over an hour's wait for the food and no sense or evidence of planned management. Notably, there were too few people behind the bar and serving. Yes it was a Saturday when FFC was playing at home. This was not a surprise as the team does that at least ten times each season. That's the negative. On the positive side the stretched staff were clearly doing their very best without effective leadership, were friendly and helpful, and understood that they were failing through no fault of their own. They stuck at it where others would have said 'Up with this I shall not put' and left there and then. The food was mostly OK. It's a pub and you go there for 'food as fuel' rather than a fine dining experience. It wouldn't take much to make it...

Went there for the first time yesterday. Lovely atmosphere. Plenty of space and comfortable seating. Had the roast…..wow….apart from the giant Yorkshire pudding which was very crispy and tasty, the pork I had was JUST like it had been cooked at home. Tender, tasty with fresh (not frozen) roast potatoes, veg and very crackly crackling. I enjoyed every mouthful. In fact it’s one of the best roasts I’ve had in a pub or restaurant. My wife had the vegetarian cauliflower & mushroom Wellington which again was excellent. I didn’t have sweet, as I was too full, but my wife had apple pie which again tasted homemade (I had a small spoonful) with lovely vanilla custard. To add to that, the staff were more than attentive - especially Ethan who couldn’t do more to attend to every need with a smile and good humour. He was looking forwards to his roast later!! Around £30 for main course, sweet and drink. There’s also an open terrace upstairs. Dog friendly....
