We don’t mind at all to pay a corkage charge of £30 for our bottle of 2006 Chateau Morton Rothschild. A special occasion for celebrating my son’s UCL graduation, but SAD to mention they said they can’t open it on our table to cheering our big day !!! This is out of our a normal expectation, the bottle has to be taken away to be open behind us at the bar, I then been restricted and could only take pictures and video clips of the opening bottle behind the scene distance away from our table; this again serving no purpose at all to cheer up our newly graduate for the night.

This tall and bold headed guy opened our bottle shocked me at that moment from his BAD etiquette till I can’t even remember to ask for his name. From the decanter he poured and drank a shot of our CHATEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD acting as if he is a professional wine taster without our permission and even though IF he were to ask our permission he is in a very wrong moved. He did the first tasting it before my son ! We are paying for the corkage charge services and not for him to judge on our wine by tasting and educating me to breath our fine fine.

It’s purely an insult on us !!!

I don’t want to comment anything else on meals, for the wine being we do not deserve such lousy treatment.

CHATEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD is not the price, it is the memory and the experienced collected three years ago from our Special invited VIP tour in ROTHSCHILD , a prestigious winery estate that we wanted to bring our experienced and taste to share with my family on his special day.

SPRING ruined our special...

My pregnant wife and I traveled from California to London anticipating what we hoped would be a tremendous dining experience at Spring. It was not. We were actually warned by friends to book dinner reservations somewhere else, as they had a very bad experience at Spring themselves. We should have taken that advice.

The most inexcusable part of our evening was how we were treated by one of the male servers for our table. He was incredibly disrespectful and dismissive. He must really despise pregnant women. He treated us like dirt. He treated us like we weren’t worth his time or that we didn’t deserve to be there. He talked back to us and gave us attitude the entire evening. We spent nearly 500 pounds on dinner and you would think you’d be treated not only fairly but with exceptional service. Neither happened.

The place itself is beautiful but the second most disappointing part of our evening was the food. It was so incredibly unexceptional. SO disappointing. The salad was so bland and flavorless. The pasta was good but also so boring and forgettable and so poorly presented. Every server was so rushed and the food came out almost falling off the plate/bowl. The steak was the most disappointing. So poorly cooked. It was the equivalent of a good meal on an airplane.

Please do not make the mistakes we made by spending SO much money for an evening of disrespect, horrible superior and arrogant attitudes and unexceptional food. We were so disappointed...

Fantastic restaurant! Deeply impressed by everything. Went here when I organised a party and the staff were beyond helpful- attentive, accommodating towards the needs of guests with with special food requests etc. Have been back may times since- my only word of warning is how tricky it is to find so allow yourself an extra ten minutes travel time if you don't want to be late. The food is wonderful, low key, simple but beautifully executed and clearly this kitchen is ran by proper trained chefs as opposed to an idiot blogger or experimental teenager who's just decided to turn to cooking because their friends have always said their food is great but who has no basis of knowledge! There is a real understanding of flavour, texture, seasoning- what works basically and the result is total harmony. The room is lovely, classic but contemporary- a tranquil space and beautifully proportioned. The space between tables is perfect and all the details have been well thought out. The staff are friendly, helpful and exemplary and the whole experience is a sensual joy from the food to the plants, uniforms and sound. The ambience is great- not at all intrusive and you literally feel your blood pressure drop when you walk...

What an incredible dining experience! Everything from the beautiful space, to the incredible service from kind and knowledgeable staff, to the insanely good food... Everything was a 10/10. We had all the pre-starters and loved the freshness of the heirloom cucumbers, and the butter for the bread was perfect consistency. We tried the Prawn Aguachile and the Crab Nduja with polenta, the crab in particular was so flavoursome and the texture was sublime, it was the best thing I've tasted in ages. We had the pork belly and lamb as mains. The bed of vegetables under the lamb was just as delicious as the meat itself. We tried the custard tart with peaches and bitter chocolate cake. The peach tarte is really something special and not too heavy or sweet. If you love excellent quality wines, their sommelier introduced us to some incredible orange wines and a beautiful burgundy. We even got a cute little boule of sorbet with a candle for our anniversary. This is such a good choice for a special occasion dinner, and we will definitely be back to try their scratch menu soon (uses ingredients to avoid food waste).

Last Friday we visited Spring at Somerset House. Before I review the restaurant itself I'd just like to say how brilliant Mark (one of the security guards at Somerset House) was. We asked him for directions to Spring and not only did he escort us down there, but on the way he gave us a load of history about the building on the way. A real credit to his employer. Back to the restaurant itself, Spring offers a scratch menu which uses the food that would have been discarded and turns it into fine dining, which we chose. It was wonderful, like somebody had taken the concept of 'Bubble and Squeak' and pushed it to the ultimate level using every type of food. That doesn't do it justice, but I'm sure you get the idea. Everything we ate was fabulous, the staff were attentive without ever being intrusive, the wine was gorgeous and the entire experience was perfectly executed. There is, of course, an a la carte menu for those not fancying the scratch. Great food, lovely wine, wonderful staff inside and out. 100% recommended.
