Finally!!!.. here we are with the review that, so far, I've been waiting to post since my first and forever last visit, nearly 3 weeks ago. But before I start, please consider that this might be a long rate. Therefore, please stay with me, since I'm going to cover each and every point of this HORRIFIC (IN THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE) experience. On the other hand, also allow me to say that, if there would have been a minus infinity rating button, I would have gladly kept pressing it, over and over again. Sorry but this introduction was needed, in order for you to better understand how insulted and disrespected I felt. So, that day at about 2pm, I walked in, interested on trying their pre-theatre 2 courses menu. As soon as I was inside, I've kindly inquired, whether they were still serving it or not. (Due to not being sure if it was running from/to a specific time - which wasn't stated on their outdoor sign) The lady working on that day, completely ignored my question and just told me to take a sit. Again, I've kindly repeated my question, pointing out that, in case, I would have come back for it. Without even looking at me and with an annoyed expression on her face, she said yes and pointed a table for me to seat. Now, is that your understanding of how making someone feeling welcomed?! Really!? Two minutes after I've seated, She came, asking me to order (not if I'd liked to but literally to do it). I've told her I wasn't ready and to come back in a minute. Felt rushed, I didn't dare to ask for longer. Then, I've ordered Prawn Shumai as entree and Chicken Pad Thai as main. Alongside a cranberry juice.(and not even that was good - had a rancid taste) Received my Shumai in less than a 5 minutes time, which for me was a huge red flag. (I used to work in real Asian fusion places, with real Asian chefs, and Shumai are to be steamed for roughly 9 minutes or until the inside temperature reach about 53 degrees) In fact their consistency was almost rubbery and not soft as they are supposed to be (like if they've been defrosted and cooked in the microwave or worse) (not to mention the filling, which was a smashed mix of some-kind) Also, they were threw in the plate like if given to an animal to be feed. (with all respect to animals) Reasons of why I've barely touched them. Moving to the Pad Thai, the noodles were way overcooked , there were only two tiny pieces of shredded chicken in it, and all I could tasted was this really weird sour /rancid flavour. Definitely not a fresh made dish and even my main was barely touched. At that point, not having satisfied my hunger at all, I've stood up, wanting to get the hell out of there and finally find something decent for me to eat else where. Therefore, while asking for the check, I've mentioned all the above points to the server, who obviously didn't take it in the right way. No one bit. Perhaps that's why She also tried to overcharge me and that, I can assure, it wasn't because of the heat of the moment. Coming to the most interesting part of my adventure, while collecting the payment, She noticed that mine was a foreign bank card and asked for my ID in order to prove it was belonging to me. (Never ever happened before) (No there is not my name on that card but the written VISA DEBIT CARD HOLDER) (hope I don't have to clarify that this is totally normal and it depends entirely on you wanting your name to be on the card or not) At that point, I still remember myself starting to shake out of anger, especially, considering that even though I've showed her through the bank mobile app, that the account holder's name was matching the one on the passport, still She didn't want to give it back to me. Trust me, I was about to call the police at this stage. In conclusion, thanks to the help of another of her co-workers, who came there to understand what was happening, I was finally able to get my passport back and leave. Not really sure of how you got a 4 ratings, considering your inexistent customer service. Guess I don't have to say that you won't see me again in a...
Read moreI recently dined at Thai Square with my group before heading to the theatre, and we had quite the experience. Let me start with the positives: the food was absolutely fantastic. Each dish was bursting with flavor, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. We relished every bite, and it truly elevated our evening.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends. The vibrant decor and soft lighting created a perfect backdrop for our pre-theatre gathering.
However, I must mention that the service was a bit slow. We found ourselves anxiously awaiting our food, especially since we had a show to catch. When the dishes finally arrived, they all came at once, which I appreciated for the continuity of our dining experience, but it would have been ideal to have them spaced out a little better.
That said, I suspect if you’re not in a rush, the service might be more leisurely and attentive. So, if you plan to visit Thai Square, I would recommend allowing yourself some extra time to truly enjoy the meal without the pressure of a ticking clock.
Overall, the wonderful food and enchanting atmosphere more than made up for the slow service. I would definitely return for another delightful evening at Thai Square! Highly recommended for those looking to indulge in great...
