First I want to say, the food are reasonably priced, especially with 10% student discount, and the service from two gentlemen upstairs is impeccable. One thing I have to mention is that, if you are coming with a large group of people, remember to book first. So why is it a two-star review? It’s only because of the lady taking numbers between 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, 19th of May 2023. This is the first time we have ever received this kind of HORRIBLE services. We were a group of four, naturally we need to wait longer than smaller groups, but after waited for 45 minutes, we were the first of the queue, and she has been taking 3 smaller groups of people in, so I suggested, this is my original words: “Excuse me, we have been waiting for more than 40 minutes, and you have taken three groups of two people whom came later than us inside, May I ask can you put two small tables together and we can settle with that?” And there was her reply without even look at me: “There is one empty table, the other one next to it has food on it, how could I suppose to do that?” Everyone lives in London has their jobs to do, I’m trying my best to do my job and I can confidently say that all my “customers” are happy, but as someone works in the service sector, using Rhetorical Question to your customers? You are not taking your job seriously at all.! That’s not over yet. My wife went to the toilet and got locked inside, after several minutes someone came and opened the door. It was the same lady AGAIN! This time, she said: “There is a maintenance sign right over there, why did you still go in?” How would you feel being locked in the toilet and someone should helped you said something like this? Don’t you think if she saw the sign, she wouldn’t go in? SHAME ON YOU! This restaurant...
Read moreWorse pork BBQ ever!
First time at Yori on 25/10 evening, and we got shocked by how "white" and bland the thin sliced pork BBQ looked. Even asked the waitress (with a name sounded like Anaya / Avaya) who served us to double check on the name of this dish - yup that's our order. We also ordered kimchi jigae so we ended up having to dip this plate of bland pork BBQ in the soup to finish our meal.
10 minutes after our meals for served (which took way too long to begin with, and the BBQ was served cold), another waiter Alex brought us the dipping sauce for the pork BBQ! Surprise surprise, the waitress who served us DID NOT know that the pork BBQ has to come with sauce! Alex got so shocked to learn that we almost finished the whole plate of bland pork BBQ when he served us the sauce. Since I took a photo of the worst pork BBQ I've ever seen when it was served, there was clear time stamp on the photo to prove that no sauces were served for more than 10 minutes because the waitress did not know what she's serving.
So Alex explained to the waitress what happened, so this lady came by our table, and stared at us. We gave her back a puzzled look, and she asked us "is everything okay?". Ha! No, it's not okay because we just had a very bad meal. She sounded super unapologetic and insincere and did not think she did not serve meals right.
We asked to speak to the manager, but the manager had already left unfortunately. That might explain the bad service we are getting.
Please, Owner of Yori, you really need to train your waiting staff right to at least know what they are serving.
Alex tried his best to mend the situation, appreciate that. Alex was great but not his waitress colleague who appeared to be so clueless and...
Read moreI really struggled to find a Korean BBQ while in London. Not because there weren't enough, because there was so many options and all the reviews were very mixed. I wanted to find a good place as this was going to be my first Korean BBQ Experience.
I decided I would attempt Yori however when booking I was told they do not take reservations over the phone, only through there website. Which was fine but as a last minute booking, I was abit nervous whether or not I'd get a reply back so quickly.
After quick confirmation. I was abit surpised as the building was surrounded by so many beautiful buldings in the area. It did look out of place and as if it needed some maintenance and upkeep, which did also carry on inside with a some what grimy appearance.
As I walked in through the front door I was greeted by two lovely Korean women who tried to seat me downstairs where it was quite busy. I asked them if I could be sat upstairs instead, and they had room for me where it was less busy.
As I sat down I noticed food and drink is ordered using a QR code, which did remind me abit like a Weatherspoons during the pandemic. Which took away from the experience for me as I had plenty of questions about the food and drink, which were left unanswered.
I was told by my friend who recommended Korean BBQ that they usually have table BBQ's. I was alittle surprised to see this restaurant has no BBQ's where you could cook your own meat. I suppose it was good for me though, as a Korean BBQ Noob I did get to experience the food the way it was intended and not ruined by me ...
As this was my first experience with Korean food, I can certainly say it won't be my last. Thank you for such a good first experience, some of the best food I...
