Ordered through Deliveroo. The person who made my sub missed half my order notes and gave me a half-done sub with ingredients missing: not toasted, no cheese, so many fillings missing. The white chocolate macadamia nut cookie tastes very old and out of date, especially the chip chunks inside it. It made me feel quite sick… It tasted days old. I called the Shoreditch branch to complain and the woman with a strong Indian accent picked up. She found my order and I said that my order wasn’t done properly. She says that her colleague made my subway order. It was a 12-foot long chicken tikka sub and rather than reassuring me, apologising for the mistake on their end, or that she’ll take down what I said seriously and asking if there is she can do for me as a customer, she starts arguing over the phone and speaking over me. She did not take my complaint seriously and she is defending her colleague rather than addressing my issues, and saying they’ll do better next time. She says she can’t do anything about my complaint. She is trying to belittle me and tell me that her colleague did the sub properly, when I’m the ONE who knows what I ordered and I’m the one eating the food. Before I could say anything else or that fact I could even speak, she cut the phone and hanged up. I am disgusted and appalled by her behaviour. 😡 I don’t care what culture or what background she comes from, but there’s too many Indian and Pakistani workers in public food chains and restaurants who have ZERO customer service skills, professionalism to them and experience to deal with people. The rudeness they bring is uncalled for. She cannot bring her subpar attitude, personal issues and behaviour to a place where you are publicly working to serve food to customers, who have EVERY right to complain when their food isn’t being prepared properly and being halfheartedly done. If you are the manager of this branch and you are reading this review, I hope you take it seriously. Because this is too much. This all happened on 25/12/2024...

I visited Subway and ordered two single Chicken Tikka sandwiches. There was only one lady working at the counter. She asked how I wanted to pay, and I said cash.
The price of a single sandwich is around £8.50 (if I’m not mistaken), but she tried to charge me £11 each — a total of £22 for two sandwiches. It felt like she assumed I didn’t speak English because my friend doesn’t, and thought she could get away with overcharging me.
When I questioned her about the price, she insisted: “I have been working here for two years, I’m sure this is the price.” But when I asked how much it costs as a meal, she suddenly realized I knew the actual prices and then said, “Oh sorry, I made a mistake.”
On top of that, she told me “no eating after 10 o’clock.” I found this strange because Subway is supposed to serve customers during opening hours.
To me, this doesn’t make sense. If you’ve been working at Subway for two years, how can you “mistakenly” charge such a wrong price? It felt more like an attempt to scam rather than a mistake.
It’s not about the extra £6 — I could easily leave that as a tip if the service was honest. What bothers me is the dishonesty, the unprofessional behavior, and the assumption that because someone may not speak perfect English, they can be taken advantage of. That is unacceptable and makes customers feel disrespected.
I hope the manager reviews this situation seriously so that Subway doesn’t lose loyal customers because of...
