I've been ordering for years and I’ve noticed the quality decreasing and decreasing, but was coming back because of some original creations. I’ll stop now, this is simply not good anymore. Firstly, they keep making mistakes in the order and deliver the wrong products; funny enough it's always a cheapest one! mistakes happen but with this shop, they happen far too often. And they don't have a customer service, no one cares, your emails go in a vacuum, so forget about getting a refund. Secondly, the quality of sushi is now subpar. Their Philadelphia cheese has barely any salmon, it was so thin at some places it wasn’t even covering the rice, and theta is happening 3 out of 4 times. If you don’t have enough salmon anymore then don’t sell salmon sushi, instead of spreading it thin like cigarette paper! The rice was dry, there was barely any cheese either, the whole thing was bland, this was just inedible. Although they try and offer innovative sushi, they don’t know how to make them and use subpar ingredients, and they just taste awful now. The quality is simply too low and it doesn’t taste good anymore; they rank even below the mainstream chains, serving tasteless plastic sushi. Such a shame.

Like other Sushi places of late, decreased foot fall and customers seems to be impacting the quality and freshness of food. I have ordered from here several times previously and was quite happy with what I received. The sandos are dramatically overpriced for what they are, the raw ingredient cost is likely no more than £2-3 and is being sold for £11. An average tasting, overpriced and quite small sandwich. The sushi box I ordered (having enjoyed the same one previously) was clearly not fresh. One component of the box had discoloured, translucent looking and horrible smelling salmon (photo) that was clearly a food safety issue. The 'crispy' bits on top of the sushi were soggy. Unfortunately as I made the unwise decision to order through UberEats, there was no route for compensation for this. And to add insult to injury, I paid extra for teriyaki sauces and they were not included, but I was charged.

Certainly! Here’s a polished review for you: I’ve never felt compelled to write a review for a takeaway until now, but Sushi Shop absolutely deserves it. The sushi was outstanding—beautifully presented and packed with flavour. I had the Dragon Roll, topped with salmon roe and fresh red chilli, and it was simply excellent. Each piece was neatly arranged in its own box, showing real attention to detail. I also tried the 9-piece ‘Just Salmon’ box, which was equally impressive. The fish was fresh, perfectly sliced, and paired wonderfully with the edamame and cabbage salad on the side. The wasabi was authentic (a rare find!), and there was plenty of soy and ginger to complement Highly recommend!

The sushi was far below even basic expectations. One roll consisted of canned tuna mixed with mayonnaise, which not only lacked freshness but felt more like a rushed sandwich filling than a sushi component. Another item was literally just a piece of cream cheese wrapped in smoked salmon — no rice, no seasoning, nothing to bring it together. It was heavy and unpleasant.

The spinach was clearly spoiled, with a sour smell and wilted, slimy texture that made it inedible. That should never have made it to the sushi.

The tempura meat in other maki rolls was hard, dry, and completely tasteless — a far cry from the light, crispy texture one expects from proper tempura.

This experience felt careless from start to finish, both in terms of ingredients and preparation. It’s disappointing, because sushi can be such a beautiful, delicate cuisine when done right. I hope the owners take this feedback seriously and reconsider their standards.

The strong, unpleasant smell coming from the sushi immediately suggested it wasn’t fresh, and all five of us agreed it tasted off—I felt awful for inviting everyone, and I’ll...

Warning: Beware of food poisoning.

This used to be one of my favourite sushi places however I ate there last week taking my sister for the first time and we were given the wrong food. An avocado hand roll instead of salmon hand roll. Which is fine it happens - we asked for it to be corrected, and it was taken away on a separate plate to be shown to the chef.

When we got a new hand roll it had some wasabi on it smeared on by the chef accidentally, along with a tiny piece of salmon. I just wiped it off as they have already thrown the avocado hand roll away (.. instead of just letting us finish it), and I didn't want to contribute to more food wasge. I regret doing that as my minor sister then ate it and got sick and had diarrhea the next day.

I think it was a bad day as most of the tables were dirty too and I had to move twice to get to a clean one.

Pretty disappointed as I used to get all my friends to come here. Not sure what happened last week. I don't know if I could trust the...
