The starter sardines were great. You could eat the entire fish as the bones were soft and removing the bones were unnecessary. The sardines had a great char on them leaving a nice contrast between the natural bitterness of the char and the saltiness from the fish. The taramasalata mixed with the white bread was also a great salty starter. The seafood platter of the three entrees we had was the best by a significant amount. The panko scallops were very fresh and flavorful. No fishyness at all. The sea bass was really flavorful. The skin was crispy and was very flavorful. With the lemon adding the sourness and the chemical reaction with the salt. It added a nice balance to the dish. The shrimps were also perfectly seared and very juicy. Sadly there were only 2 smaller shrimps. The bouillabaisse was not good. It was pretty bland and the broth needed to be cooked more. It needed to be reduced down more. It was a bit watery and the ingredients for the broth did not integrate well together. The mussels were fine but the broth did not help with the overall flavor. You also have to make sure that the front is not as fishy smelling. The whole sea bass was good as it was cooked and seared well. But the bouillabaisse really brought down the overall experience. If we ordered something else perhaps the rating...

Good place for seafood but there is definitely room for improvement!
It is located in a lovely neighbourhood and the walk from Baker Street is really pleasant on a beautiful sunny day. As you enter the shop, your senses are immediately affronted by the strong smell of fish, as you enter the restaurant via the fishmongers at the front. The floor is wet and your shoes are now covered in fish water, not dissimilar to a wet market. Might want to leave those Yeezys at home.
Once you've overcome this shock to the senses, then you are welcomed into the restaurant by efficient but tart and tight-lipped staff.
They will recommend that you order the Grilled Seafood Platter, and being British, you oblige. The dish arrives and although it looks delightful - the scallops are chewy and overcooked. The seabass is oily. And the crevettes were dry and rubbery. Every bite comes with a dash of regret for being too polite to stick to your guns and order what you really wanted.
Some dishes were brilliant - if you do come then order: Tuna Carpaccio 🔥 Moules Marinières Seafood Linguine Apple Crumble 💯
Service wasn't the friendliest, but they were incredibly efficient.
So would we come...
Read moreHaving not visited this restaurant in almost 20. years, I decided to take my husband here on a Saturday night after work. The restaurant did not disappoint my memory of it. Relaxed but refined ....a perfect venue for a calm weekend meal. The food was...as I remembered it . excellent. We started with the smoked haddock croquettes and the fish soup. The croquettes were perfect, straight from the oven, light and flavourful the soup was superb, great flavour and not overly salty. Then for the mains, the grilled fish platter and the mackerel fillets. The platter was exactly the right size for one, the prawns perfectly cooked, the fish delicious. The mackerel was lovely, just slightly too dry for my taste, but still wonderful. Two lovely desserts rounded the evening off perfectly. However one slightly sour note, the waiter made a disparaging comment when the bill was presented. I had booked via an app and was entitled to a 30% food discount and still paid £175 for the well deserved meal. Bittersweet taste on the delivery of the bill, as people should not be embarrassed by taking advantage of discounts offered by the restaurant. But overall, honest simple food, well prepared and...
