Edit update FOOD POISINING Almost 12 hours later ingesting food, belly ache, 12 hours later full belly ache, cramps and diareah. Over night next morning, first thing is belly ache, cramps and diareah.
This suggests the meat in my Larb salad was not stored properly, likely in the heat for bacterium to grow giving me this time frame and symptom. I didn’t state I ate meat chat GTP knew.
This is the first in a long time I had food poisoning. This place was a huge mistake.
Really bad service. The moment we sat down the waiter told us it’s cash only and said there is a cash machine down the road. We said we want to pay by card. He then offered Apple Pay via phone - no card machine.
The portions are small.
Thai green curry with small chicken breast bits floating inside. Literally one table spoon has a few small pieces floating. It don’t come with rice, but the jasmine rice is £3.99…ontop of the curry.
My salad was tiny even though the waiter said it’s a good enough portions. But that’s ok because it’s just opinions although I asked if it’s enough of a meal he said yes.
It’s more of a side portion.
The food took almost 30 mins to come for something so small and non complete. This wasn’t during peak times it was around 4pm and the place had two tables occupied on the top floor.
We finished it quick because we are hungry and the food was tiny.
We asked for the bill and asked for service charge to be taken off.
He asked me what was the problem as if he could confront it and had a problem, and I could sense anger….
Read moreWe booked two Thai restaurants as it was my husband’s birthday so could not decide where to go. In the end we as family in fact my husband decided to go to Thai Spice, so I called and made the booking and informed them that it is my husband’s birthday so if we can get a nice table. When I called the other restaurant to cancel the booking they already remembered that the one you booked for your husband’s birthday and I was impressed that they remembered.
When we arrived at Thai Spice there was no special table booked in fact they did not even remember that we booked it for my husband’s birthday which was a put off for me but I thought never mind. We ordered food, appitizers, soup and main course. The waiter asked if we want soup and appetizers to be ordered first and we said yes please. The soup I ordered (Tom Kha with prawns) I found it very sweet so they asked if I want to replace it, I replaced it with Tom Yum with chicken which is cheaper than prawn soup. They brought the appetizers, soup and main course all together so what is the point of asking? The waiter warned us about the green curry that it is spicy but nothing was said about beef noodles and they were way more spicy and salty than they should have been. Mind you we eat spicy food but this was another level. They should ask the customer his spicy they want anyhow we did not complain and paid the bill and give a tip as well. When I checked the bill in my car on my way home I saw that they charged me more for Tom Kha (prawn) soup when it was replaced by Tom Yum (chicken) soup. I did not do anything about it but was disappointed that they overcharged me. Mind you I spent £90 plus for the dinner. Meaning we cannot trust them and should check our bill always. Plus when I requested that we were coming to the restaurant for the first time and it was my husband’s birthday they paid no attention to that request. It shows their customer services. It ruined my experience and day as it was special for my family. And we never experienced this in a restaurant that they take cash only which was a surprise when the waiter told us. It was 9:30 pm and raining, we had to go out in the rain to get money out of the cash point, really inconvenient for customers !!!!!
I have just read other reviews now that their card machine are sadly broke ….. how can the card machine be broken for the last 5 months ????
Another thing though I requested the waiter not to add service charge because of the above reasons (which I had in my mind but did not say anything to them) they still brought the bill with service charge included in it. I had to confirm and then they brought another bill without the service charge. (My children decided to pay the tip separately in the end)
I did not want to spoil my husband’s experience but I think I wasted £90 plus on this meal, rather would’ve gone to the other restaurant who valued our custom and remembered that it was a birthday booking.
PS all my family had to go to the toilet with upset stomach ☹️ I try not to leave negative or bad reviews but this had to be done...
Read moreI was really excited to try this restaurant after seeing it on TikTok. It serves Thai food and is Halaal, which made it even more appealing. My friend and I visited on a Friday at 2:30 PM, and the restaurant was completely empty—we were the only customers. There were steps to get into the restaurant, but the waiter was very helpful and assisted us with bringing the buggy inside, which I appreciated.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to my expectations. For starters, we ordered the summer hot wings, Tom Yum soup, and prawn satay. The soup arrived lukewarm but tasted okay. The prawns didn’t look appetising and were also not hot. The chicken wings were warm, but the chicken smelt off, so we took a bite and left the rest.
For the mains, I ordered stir-fried noodles with chicken. It was so salty that I had to call the waiter over to complain. He was very kind and offered to cook it again, but by then, I was frustrated and declined. I mentioned to the waiter that the starters were lukewarm and told him not to just take my word for it, but to feel the temperature of the food himself and taste the noodles. I felt embarrassed for bringing my friend here. On the other hand, her main dish—seabass with egg-fried rice—was the highlight of the meal. It was flavourful and really tasty and hot.
One other inconvenience was that the restaurant doesn’t take card payments. After the meal, my friend had to go to the cash machine which was about a 7 min walk away and this was a bit annoying.
Positives: • Good friendly service, and the staff kindly allowed my friend to pray in the restaurant. • The drinks, especially the mojitos, were excellent. • The sea bass dish and egg-fried rice were really good
I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I hope the management takes my constructive feedback on board to improve the quality of their food. They have potential, and with a few adjustments, the experience could be much better. I wish them all the best and hope they continue to grow and succeed in...
