The Sunday Roast sounded tempting but was a disappointment. 2 slices of well cooked beef were presented atop a mound of chard. Concealed at the bottom ofvtge chard were 3 warm potato pieces which tasted old and possibly "AuntbBessies"! A single strip of a carrot lay to one side and a scattering of shitake mushrooms adorned the top. A Yorkshire pudding languished to one side. The entire serving sat in a moat of tepid gravy. Not really worth the £18 imho. I wondered if the menu boast of "All the trimmings" only covered the mushrooms. There certainly was nothing else. I felt disappointed.

Popped in for a midday snack and was blown away by the delectable Braised Pork Belly on the small plates menu. Reasonably priced for the volume & quality. Nice selection of food & drink offerings (Beavertown Gamma Ray paired perfectly with the pork & red onion & cabbage coleslaw.) Midday Monday so not busy, staff super nice & helpful and right decent outdoor seating with shaded areas. Decor on point. Can recommend if ya in the area and need some good food & beverages.

This is a large and very nice pub in the backwaters of Westminster. Can be loud sometimes, but most of my visits have been rather quiet, which I like. They have a very good selection of Real Ale and, of course, everything else you would expect from a good pub. Food can be ordered, too. For those loooking for something different, I can recommend this place very much.

*Update: I was hospitalised with food poisoning after this initial review. REALLY BE CAREFUL before eating here * Firstly, the chips and chicken wings took a really long time to come out and were battered and I am gluten free (gf) and initially assumed that the chicken wings were not suitable for gf. So, I offered it to my friends, who ate 2 of them. Once I inquired and found out that they were gf, I was so excited to take a bite, only to realise that the wings were red and bloody (not even pink) on the inside! After showing them to the house manager and saying that I and my friends could get sick as a result of eating this. Knowing in my mind that as a result of a multitude of medications I take and conditions I have, I am not even able to have runny eggs or rare steak, let alone rare chicken for risk of bacteria! He replied, "I highly doubt that you will get sick from this" and then offered more chips and refunded my whole order. I am currently writing this review unwell and in bed after recovering from a really bad day yesterday with, you guessed it, food poisoning... to say I'm unhappy would be a huge...

Been using this lovely pub for years, (I was a teenager when I first went in with my parents and am now 65yrs old) but not so much lately because of prices. We go in for football matches, usually with other family members and friends. At these times we obviously spend a lot, we are all drinkers and usually eat there as well. On Saturday 25th April my husband, Roy, rang to book a table for the next day, as we always do and was told that because of the marathon we couldn't do this. We went around early and got a large table and found that the table next to it had a board on it saying "Reserved for Liam for 4pm". Whoever Liam was we never found out because he didn't turn up! After a couple of pints my husband ordered a house double of whisky, which is £4.70 when he has had it before. He was told he couldn't have it at this price because it was only for "special people" as in regulars. If it hadn't been for the football and meeting friends we would have left there and then and it is unlikely that we will be back, which is very sad after such...

You can check my profile, I am not a harsh reviewer, but this place was a real let down and I felt ripped off.

We visited here based on the good reviews over the last few years. Unfortunately, this was a mistake. I'm not sure if the place has changed owners or if it has just gone downhill, but it was probably the worst pub I've been to in at least a year.

Neither of us finished our food because the meals were not just poor quality but actively tasted bad and genuinely looked like it was fresh out of an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

Staff did not check on us, just sat on their phones at the bar - but I do not blame them, I would be embarrassed to ask customers how things were with food this bad. I am almost certain this is the fault of poor management and not the staff.

In such an affluent and historic area, you are spoilt for choice - there are plenty of lovely pubs with great food in Westminster offering the same...
