Clifton Nurseries Cafe is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of the city! Tucked away within the beautiful surroundings of the Clifton Nurseries, this cafe feels like a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. It has a charming and cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with friends or even spending some quiet time on your own. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by incredibly friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The service is always warm and attentive, which really enhances the overall experience.

The menu offers a great selection of delicious food, whether you're after a light snack or a more substantial meal. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and tasty, with lovely flavors that really hit the spot. Their coffee is also fantastic—rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. It’s the perfect pick-me-up, whether you’re starting your day or just taking a break in the afternoon.

Another plus is that they offer free Wi-Fi, which makes it a great spot for getting some work done, catching up on emails, or simply enjoying a leisurely morning with a coffee and your laptop. The setting is serene and inspiring, which makes it easy to get lost in the peaceful ambiance.

If you’re in London and looking for a tranquil hideaway with great food, excellent coffee, and wonderful service, Clifton Nurseries Cafe is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommend spending some time here—you won’t be...

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience here. In summary, a very chaotic and poorly organised vibe on the weekend. Upon entering we were approached by a staff member who started to ask us if we were looking for a table. Another member of staff swooped past and passed her a plate of food. At this point the original member of staff then left us literally mid sentence to deliver the food (everyone seemed rather stressed). We walked towards a table at which point we were approached by another member of staff. Over the next 3-4 minutes we were spoken to (or rather, spoken about) by around 3 different staff members, who all seemed to be dealing with different customers and were essentially vying for tables. It was very chaotic although I think the staff members were trying their best to seat everyone, although in a very poorly organised way. We then went to order, and were told once arriving at the front of the queue the wait was 40 minutes for food. At the same time, another one of our party held the table next to us ask a waitress about their food which they had been waiting a full hour for. At this point we decided to cut our losses and got our coffees to go. The coffees were fine but not great. Looking at other positive reviews perhaps they were very short...

In a nutshell, the service we received was extremely poor: After taking our initial order, we were not visited by another waiter for the rest of our approx. 90 minutes at the cafe. Not once. Not to check whether the food was ok, not to ask if we needed anything else, not to top-up our waters. After our meal, we were hoping to order some coffees, and we kept waiting for one of the many waitstaff running around to come over, but to no avail. And even when we tried attracting the attention of the waitstaff, nobody made so much as eye contact with our table (and we were sitting right in the centre of the cafe, between the outdoor and indoor areas, and also close to the waiter's-station). When I tried flagging down a waiter more obviously by waving my hands in the air, one finally acknowledged my existence, but rushed past and said "give me a second and I'll be right with you" only to go tend to another table and never to return. Needless to say, we had the optional 12.5% service charge removed from our bill.

It seemed that the waitstaff were tending to tables at random; perhaps try allocating waiters to individual tables so as to deliver a more consistent (and pleasant) customer experience. Good service can make the difference to the success of...

⸻ 🌿 5 stars I visited Clifton Nurseries today with family and friends to pick out some plants for my home — and it turned out to be one of the loveliest starts to the weekend I can remember. The weather was beautiful, the setting was peaceful and full of charm, and we enjoyed absolutely delicious scones with cream and coffee at the café. It honestly felt like a little slice of heaven right in London. To top it all off, I managed to capture what might be the best photo ever taken of my mum — a memory I’ll treasure. A truly special place. Highly recommend for a relaxed day out, whether you’re a plant lover or just in search of a calm, uplifting spot.

A little hidden gem hidden in Maida Vale! We arrived at 1:30pm on a Sunday and waited only a few minutes to be seated at the restaurant. We had the vegan Portobello burger and the dirty burger which we both shared. Both were excellent. Or waitresses Claudia and Alexandra (I asked their names to write this review) we're constantly busy and yet, always available and smiling! We had several requests and they managed them quickly. We then wandered around, into the green house and between all the plants and flowers... We really had a great time there and will definitely come back for the amazingly looking salads!
