I came here with my cousin and his girlfriend for karaoke on a Friday night. But unfortunately, this place did not live up to my expectations. I asked one of the bar staff what time karaoke started and they told me 9:30. But it didn’t actually begin until around 10:30. The way the 50 something year-old DJ organises the song queue is a bit awol. He just draws random names and songs from a bucket, so you could potentially be waiting for hours to sing your song even though you may have been one of the first to submit one. When I commented saying that people usually have a list which they work their way down, he replied saying that they abandoned that method because people would get impatient, to which I replied with “Yeah, so? That’s their problem”. My cousin and his girlfriend never got the chance to sing, despite submitting a song early on. They waited for over an hour but ran out of time as they had a curfew. I would only recommend doing karaoke here if you have a LOT of time on your hands. The bar staff were nice though, but the steak I had was pretty awful; Chewy & under seasoned with a blunt ass steak knife
My response to your response: So what that the people who arrived later and submitted a song later have to wait? That’s life. “First come, first served”as the saying goes. Explain to me how it’s fair that somebody who got there early, specifically to sing karaoke early before the crowd(s) arrive, has to then wait all night because the host decides who gets to go next as opposed to the people who got there first. That sh¡t ain’t right my friend…
And don’t even bother fixing your steaks & knives up. You won’t ever see me or anybody I know...

Me and my friend who are both in the British Armed Forces went here for a quick beer and a catch up. We were greeted at the bar by a young (maybe 18) year old bar staff member who amazingly asked us for identification, we showed our military (MOD90) cards as proof of ID and the young girl looked baffled, she called over another staff member who had a foreign accent and they both shook their heads and said no sorry we can not accept these as ID.
I have served in the military for over 11 years and my MOD90 Army ID Card has never ever been a problem when using it as identification. We were shocked and had no other alternative than to leave without drinks, it was a disgusting experience.
The owner or management of this establishment need to train or make their staff aware of what ID is acceptable and what isn’t. Under the Home Office Guidance 2012 the MOD90 ID Card is an official identification issued by the government (ministry of defence).
PLEASE NOTE: Military soldiers will never use their MOD90 ID Card as their first choice for ID. I personally would only present this if I didn’t have other means of ID on my person.
I am writing to the papers about this incident as no British pubs/establishments should treat their armed forces this way and your establishment needs to made...
Read moreWent here today (09/03) looking for a place to eat before a comedy show later on. When we walked in it was busy with the rugby (eng vs Ireland) but we soon found a little table in the corner that was reserved at 9pm.
We were served almost immediately with plenty of staff available to take orders. Drinks were great. The food however was exceptional.
Asked at the bar when ordering if we needed any adjustments (always so nice to be asked to feel less awkward when removing items), and allergies. The food then arrived 10 minutes later which considering it was just half time for the rugby was incredibly quick as the pub was very busy.
We ordered a chicken burger, beef burger and Mac & cheese croquettes and it is simply some of the best food I’ve had in a while. Really tasty, hot and well presented. Amazing quality for the price.
We will definitely recommend and return when back in the...
