This review not about food – because I did not receive a single dish after waiting for 1.5 hours – but about how the place is run on an operational level as a business. Other Google reviews about the poor service levels and slowness of food arriving are true.

When we arrived at 7:30pm, there were 2 other tables. We were the 3rd table in the place, and we also made a dine-in phone reservation 2 days before. We placed our order at around 7:45pm, confirmed our the dishes with the lone server doing front-of-house, and trusted that he would put in our order.

By 8pm the place was full, and it seemed there was a waiting list even. Our food still did not arrive by 8:30pm, but we trusted that the kitchen was busy preparing the dishes. Based on other Google reviews which said that the food could take time, we sat and waited, hoping that the food was prepared, and on its way. Tables that arrived an hour after we did started to get all their food, and they even ate, paid and left.

By 9pm, I went to ask about the status of our order, after which the server looked surprised and simply told me he forgot to put it in. I was completely shocked, extremely hungry, and very frustrated. I repeated my order again to him only to be told it would take at least 30 minutes for my food to be ready... I then conferred with my table, and we decided to cancel our order as the possibility of the food taking even longer to arrive was a very real possibility.

The incompetence is shocking: my order was placed when the place was not even busy (with only 3 tables) at 7:45pm. Not once did the server come over to ask or check with our table, which did not have a single plate of food at all. Hainanese chicken is time-intensive to prepare, but the chicken is usually pre-poached as the dish is served at room temperature, and the rice is pre-cooked from the poaching stock. I work full-time in a busy 50-cover restaurant, and thus am completely cognizant and aware of the functionings of a food establishment.

I went to Three Bowls with high hopes for a great Hainanese meal, only to be incredibly disappointed; a complete betrayal of the trust that diners put in the hands of...

The food here is really good to start off and I have been multiple times. My last two visits have been terrible though and I won’t be wasting money again. The second to last, we waited 2 hours for a meal that the one guy who is there waitering forgot about, so we had to remind him. When the food came the chicken fried rice had small bones in. The guy in there is very forgetful and cannot handle this place on a busy night at all - which is understandable but you need to hire more staff!!!! The last time I went I waited 1.5 hour for food and my friend is vegan so we ordered the vegan dumplings, she took one bite and it was fish! When I said to him, his reply was ‘well you can eat it’. He is under so much pressure from it being very busy and is resulting in him forgetting everything from people sitting down to what food they’ve ordered to then coming across quite rude. I would not recommend wasting your money here and if you have a food requirement- it is risky to go because he is so forget, you won’t remember it. Your best bet of eating in less than an hour and having good quality food is going when it is not busy instead. If...

I’m really sad to give this place a bad review, but my partner and I did not have a good experience at all.

We got sat in a corner table which was practically inaccessible by the servers, which is okay because it was busy so we didn’t think anything about it.

But after being seated we waited and waited, we weren’t given the menus or water for at least 20 mins. People who came after us were given water, menus and had their order taken.

When the server came with the menu, we told him we already know what we want, but he went back to retrieve a notepad and water - and again we waited 10+ mins before my partner went to ask for water.

Once we ordered, our plates were passed over the next table, interrupting the people dining next to us every time.

The food was decent, nothing special for the £44 pounds we paid. But the mango coconut drink was good.

After dining we again waited for 15+ mins for our bill to come.

The service is really slow it kinda ruined my dining experience. I won’t...

One star is far too kind. Chilli sauce left wide open, complete with a fly — food safety clearly optional. The lone server ignored us from start to finish: no greeting, no menus, just us doing it all ourselves. When they finally appeared, it was only to spill sauce into our plates and lecture us on spoon usage. One dish took half an hour, with nothing more than a shrug and “we’ll make it now.” The place doubled as a karaoke lounge — flashing lights, shouting, singing — while the server pretended not to notice. Refuse the service charge, and suddenly they’re deaf. The chef’s attitude was acceptable, but the restaurant is obviously understaffed, and with service like this, the one server might as well not exist. A night so dreadful it’s almost impressive.
