I recently visited Prince Albert in Notting Hill in London, and I can confidently say itās a must-visit spot for any fish and chips enthusiast. This charming pub effortlessly blends a warm, inviting atmosphere with the rich tradition of British cuisine. As soon as I stepped in, I was greeted by friendly staff, cozy interiors, and the perfect balance of a lively yet laid-back vibe.
The star of the show, of course, was the fish and chips. The batter on the fish was golden and crisp, encasing a perfectly cooked, flaky piece of fresh cod. The chips were thick-cut, piping hot, and seasoned to perfection, with just the right amount of crunch on the outside and fluffiness inside. Paired with a side of tangy, homemade tartar sauce and a squeeze of fresh lemon, every bite was a delight.
To top it off, our waiter, Max, was outstanding. He was attentive without being overbearing, had great menu recommendations, and made us feel right at home. His friendly demeanor added an extra touch to an already great experience.
With quick service, generous portions, and a cozy yet lively ambiance, Prince Albert is more than just a place to grab a biteāitās an experience. Whether youāre a local or just visiting London, this 5-star pub deserves a spot on your list. Iāll...

I have lived in Notting Hill since 1979, and have been frequenting this pub since 1986.
I visited this pub two days ago, and experience which demonstrated the importance of customer service in such an establishment.
The Good: 'Mathias'. I was served by this gentleman in an exemplary manner. He was polite, efficient and smiled during the time he served me. Later on in the evening it was refreshing to see him washing his hands THOROUGHLY after using the Lavatory, prior to serving patrons - a practice which is too frequently lacking in some eating establishments.
The Bad: Having decided to write a good review for Mathias, I asked one of the other staff 'excuse me, do you know the name of this pub'. She rudely replied 'yes, I do know the name', and she walked off without replying to my question. She was rude, arrogant and worried because she say the 'Trip Advisor' app. on my mobile phone. Rather than asking if there was a problem (which there wasn't), she created a drama and caused me not to give the pub a 5* review as I had initially intended.
The Ugly: I looked in the mirror.
If you decide to visit, then hope that Mathias serves you and not the...

During our gathering, we were given information several times about the time until what time we can order food and drinks and what time the institution closes, what is really good. At the end of the evening, a waiter came up to us and reminded us that the place would close in 10 minutes. I looked at my watch and noted the time. We continued to communicate with each other, because I planned to spend five minutes on getting ready and going to the restroom. I do not drink alcohol, so I clearly perceived the passage of time. After 3 minutes another waiter came up to us and said that we must leave the place. I replied that another waiter gave us 10 minutes for this 3 minutes ago, which I was convinced of by looking at the clock. This guy said that he plays a more important role here and knows better. I replied that nowhere is it indicated that he is more important here. To which he practically shouted that we should leave the immediately. The next table was also very surprised by what was happening. We looked at each other and decided that we would never visit this...
