We are visiting from Boston, MA, USA with my husband and 9-months old daughter. We were just stopping for a quick drink before dinner and had very hard time finding a place to change our baby. There is no family room, no changing station in ladies’s room and impossible to do anything on the bathroom vanity counter. As we were seating outside with very few people around we have made an executive decision to quickly change crying baby wet diaper. We have a foldable changing thing on us and got the system down so it only took few mins. 2 max. As we were finishing up, a bartender who happened to seat outside drinking and smoking, started telling us in raised voice that what we are doing was unacceptable and should not be happening, and so on. Pretty much yelling at 2 adults almost double his age and a little baby. Even if baby changing made him unhappy, there are more appropriate ways to address that than yelling in front of people on a street. Well, I get it is a bar and I worked at the bar in my early years and had bunch of people visit with babies. Pretty much all bathrooms I have ever seen have these cheap and easy Koala changing stations, any pub I have seen. The Swan was an exception. So was rude bartender who finds it very appropriate to drink and smoke during his shift but not appropriate to change crying baby outside when no other options are available. Drinks are find btw and reasonable priced. Its just that service is rude...
Read moreWe had the staff party there and was a great atmosphere but I can not say the same about their organization! They didn't know where the food was going, so one of the managers print the pre-order and our manager call out where they need to send the food. The food was not bad, but I asked for one more slice of bread for my duck liver pate and they said to the manager to tell me that they can not give ... Etc, so I needed to eat the rest of the pate whit the fork ... after they clear the starters they brought me bread and butter after 15-20 mi after we finish the starters and they clear the table. *The Truffle Chicken was Delicious 👏. *The clementine trifle is not well incorporated was a bit too bitter and had a caramelized almond biscuit that didn't go too well with the rest of the dessert we couldn't break it whit the spon, so you needed to take it whit the hand and bite and it was getting stuck on the teeth 🦷.
Apart from that, the staff was friendly. The place has a beautiful terrace and is nice and cozy.
But I always take the good part ( and I suggest to everyone to do the same ) at the end of the day we had fun, and I did enjoy the chicken breast, and it happens to all of us to have a bad day sometimes so keep up the good work, and see you soon! 🤝☯️
I totally recommend it, ( i will go as well again in the summertime just because I want to enjoy their terrace ) And a nice cold...
Read moreAfter 17-18 ventures into the cozy confines of that special & esteemed establishment that dates back to the 2nd half of the 1700s, it is zero exaggeration to say that, INVARIABLY, I left a better, more fulfilled person than I had been upon entering. Fact! For the rejuvenating powers of The Swan can never ever be underestimated, ignored, dismissed, or scoffed at, they are real, palpable & magically manifest. That I could always feel, keenly & enjoyable (down to my deepest molecular core)! Perhaps this discernment of positive & upbeat paranormal activity that breathes new life into the immediate atmosphere? Quite possibly! Basically, everything about the place is outstanding, delicious & intoxicating, thus have I floated joyfully out of that famed, dignified & distinguished watering hole (one that serves a superlatively cooked fish & chips, & makes a cup of tea so good & superb that it's almost transcendent!). Having a rough & stressful day? Enter The Swan with a free & open mind, & all your fears, anxieties, worries, hurts, per peeves, aggravations, nagging doubts, & surging quirks will evaporate within minutes. 5 tops! Perhaps 25, after a few teas & pints. If not, you get half your $$$ back (in coins)! Go...
