We chose this place randomly on google maps, and boy, I am so glad that we did. Irina took a great care of us, making us feel welcome. They have extensive drink menu and small plates but also entrees making it perfect place for any occasion or gathering. They have separate room for private parties as well. The atmosphere is so elevated with distinct character. Food was top notch, we had calamari, hummus with olives, chicken wings, beef sandwich, burger and linguini pasta. Loved everything, absolutely superb. Highly recommended!!!

An extraordinary, simple but smart pub and kitchen tucked away down Mitre street in the heart of the city. Great beer with plenty of choice for us "lager louts" and Pride +Oliver's available for the "Cask boys". Wonderful service and a jolly disposition from the staff. I love the deep emerald green tiles and wood adorning the place, a real marker for a London pub. A huge "Gin Palace" downstairs, ready for a party. It all looks wonderful. Love the tip to sailing with the nautical flags on the stairs. It all made me smile!

The worst Fullers I've ever been to. Wanted to order nibbles with our drinks. Grumpy bar man in a not busy pub saulid that he would send someone over. Ten mins went past. No one came. I decided to go to the bar and buy some crisps and nuts instead. The woman at the bar walked away when she saw me. There was no other customers waiting. Madness. It was a quiet Friday. What on earth is everyone doing?! Recommend getting food at Burger King in Fenchurch St Station instead.

Went for drinks. 2 of us. Colleague asked for 2 Peroni. I wanted a Bottle of Peroni. The barman gave 2 draft peroni that colleague brought to table. I went back to bar & said this was not I wanted. Colleague said to me he asked for 2 bottles. We had just had bottles in other pubs. No draft. So I expected he would order the same. He is kind of "nice" so sometimes may not wish to make a fuss. But we need the right drinks.

Barman insisted colleague said "2 peroni".

Now comes why 4 stars over 1 star.

We negotiated. I accepted my colleague may have not been clear. But I shouldn't have to drink the wrong drink when the barman also in error.

How so?

Barman said colleague asked for 2 petoni. Not 2 bottles of peroni. I made the point that he never asked for "2 draft peroni" either. If he did indedd say "2 peroni" then barman should have said "draft or bottle sir". He didn't. Errors both sides.

Negotiation was swap 1 of the 2. Colleague will take the pint & I get a swap to bottle.

Really good service. Logical. Fault both sides. "A peroni" does not default mean draft unless a sign says so. A steak does not default to "Well done burned" unless says so. They ask "how like cooked sir"

So this was very good when explained. Drunk here lots of times no issues. Issue thus time. Resolved. Will come...

Pros

Florencia was excellent throughout from booking, to identifying my needs and tweaking the set menu options to suit our crowd. She made the process in the lead up to the event and the event itself so easy.

Food was lovely and varied

Space was great (Gin Parlour) – large but with different sections meant the space always felt busy

Location was great – no issues finding it and easy to get to from a few stations

Cons

There were 2 or 3 times while they were serving food that the bar was unmanned and people were standing around for drinks

I had to use my phone for Spotify playlist for mussic. Would have been fine but if I'd had some advance notice I would have created playlists and hidden my phone behind the bar to stop people becoming Spotify DJ's and cancelling playing songs and playlists to suit their own music tastes

End of the night – some of the employees felt the ending was quite abrupt and felt rushed to get out.

Being called the Gin Parlour, I would have expected a better selection of gin (only had two behind the bar)

Above issues could easily be rectified so I would definitely book for a business networking event again - Florencia is an asset...

Cheap pint but don't bother eating here. Had a small group so we got some sharing table dishes., asked the waitress if it would be enough and she said "yes". Extremely disappointed. The sausages came at £6 and there were six weenies- smaller than a pinky and as dry and tasteless as the mummy it fell off of. The order of chips amounted to a single handful- a toddler's hand that is; and the chicken wings were so small you're basically paying for fried bones. Even mentioned to the waitress the portions were extremely small and she shrugged as if she has heard it about a million times. But a pint of lager is £4.90 so if you like beer and eating worse than a street pigeon, maybe this is the...
