U7 Lounge — Restaurant in London

Unfortunately, this U7 Lounge fell under par for the following reasons:-

The drinks were grossly overpriced considering the Lounge falls within an Inner London Borough (i.e. not the West End!). The receipt received did not have the correct information/names of the drinks ordered. Emailed the U7 Lounge customer service team (as the complaint email address, bounced back) & they explained that although the receipt didn't have the correct items ordered, the price charged was correct (see excerpt of email response received from them below).

Whilst happy to take the explanation with a pinch of salt, it was technically misrepresentation of the facts which could come under the Misrepresentation Act 1967.... in fact, they could have offered to ensure their computer system is updated to have correct names for the drinks ordered....

Email excerpt from U7 Lounge:- I'm sorry that you feel that you were over charged. I have spoken with the staff member who served you. He has stated that he served you the following-

1 Pint of Guinness £6.50 (same price as camden hells pint)

Single Courvoisier (premium) and splash (£8+£1.50)

Martini Rossa (served as a double house) £9

Totalling £25

So, the reasons behind him adding the other named brands to the bill was for the convenience as it was busy and those were the items easiest to press at the time....."

Do not go here! They overcharge you deliberately. I asked for two baby Guinness shots (which are usually between £4-8 max in London having lived here for 4 years). Firstly the bartender didn’t know what they were so made them completely wrong - just a small glass of baileys? Then they charged us £36 for two shots.. I disputed it with my card provider the next day which meant I could see the break down of the charges. They are apparently charging £11.50 for one baby Guinness shot which is daylight robbery. Then they had also incorrectly added on shots of jack Daniels which we hadn’t had. Plus an ‘optional’ service charge (which was not optional as it didn’t come up on the screen when you paid, you had no prior knowledge of paying it - usually in bars it says ‘add a tip?’ Or similar but they literally just add it and don’t tell you which is illegal). I’m not paying service when the bar staff doesn’t know how to make a drink and are overcharging me - service is for that, good service. We were also the only people there so it wasn’t to do with being busy or loud. You will end up out of pocket with the wrong drinks and bad atmosphere. Scammers. Do...

From the moment we met Hilz and booked U7 Lounge for our event, she was accommodating! She answered all my questions, reassured my concerns, booked additional services on request for me, and remained patient with me right up to and during our event last Saturday. It was a very smooth, professional and warm service!

The bar staff Sid and Maria were great with our guests, as was Jada at the front entrance, which made people feel good.

Hilz checked in with me during the night and was absolutely brilliant with me, our caterers and our guests! This resulted in an amazing night at this venue, which all our friends and family are still speaking about!

I would highly recommend U7 Lounge to anyone looking to host your event. The combination of professionalism, ease, great sevice and warmth was fantastic. Thank you! Top notch service! 10/10...
