Some say that Wired Co. is the best coffee shop in London, perhaps even in the UK. I believe that Wired is the ideal execution of THE community coffee shop that Starbucks founder Howard Schultz had in mind when he came back from Italy. Their roast is just right for that groggy morning, their passion about brewing shows when you enter the shop, and finally they know how to make a drink. Bonus - they have picked the best alternative milk options, and yes, they serve Oatly!
Wired is a crown jewel in the family-friendly West Hampstead area of London, and you can often see parents with their prams/pushchairs/strollers/buggies here. Their interiors are full of locals socializing over coffee and their home-cooked breakfast pastries and multiple other options, also they have a basement for those seeking to do deep reading or work, and a series of 4-5 no-pretense pavement tables for sitting outside.
The coffee's flavor is one of the best you will have, and is stronger than average but doesn't taste burnt like Costa. The staff is extremely passionate about good coffee, and personable enough to remember your order if you go there often. Don't forget to try their Banana Bread toasted with Butter (our favorite), carrot cake, and unique cake options such as...
Read moreUndoubtedly it has great coffee, itâs my go to for that. It looks cool - as a small outlet with urban/chic decor which I like (but isnât the cosiest). However there is extra seating for about 7-8 people downstairs
But the food runs out quickly and usually no lunch stuff (just sweet stuff) by the afternoon. It doesnât , at least at that time have anything to cater for different diets with few/none vegan or gluten free on offer.
It is January admittedly, but it is cold and a bit drafty on the main floor (I havenât sat downstairs) with majority of seating small or high stools (a few banquettes) .
And it opens early and been closing at 4 :( for a while now - itâs not clear when that will change.
So although the baristas do their best , (and one is particularly lovely) and the coffee is really lovely , itâs probably not the greatest place to bed in to work/snack if you want somewhere for...

Unfortunately, it comes in a small cup like flat white in other coffee places, and this was a disappointment... I tried toasted vegan banana bread which someone recommended. It wasn't too bad but too gooey for me - I like moist but fluffy cakes. For a small coffee and a cake I paid over £7 which I think is a bit much. Even though the coffee tasted alright, only because it is sold in small cups I won't be coming back. **(Not sure why smaller cups are being used for lattes in some places, I understand you want to save up but you also lose...
