Sorry, but after one too many bad experiences I have to leave this review. I’ve been going to this takeaway spot on and off for three years (in person and ordering online) and every single time in person customer service has been disgraceful. I know that Caribbean shops have a stigma of bad customer service, but every single front of house staff throughout the three years I’ve been there have been British so there’s really no excuse for mannerisms. Every single time I go there, they commonly lie about timeframes for waiting and seem to not really care. if you get what I’m saying? One time I had waited generously for over an hour and I wasn’t even given upon an apology, when my food did come, instead, they randomly left two chicken wings (which were freezing) in the takeaway bags And giggled as I waited. Every single time I have gone in person my food has taken a minimum of 25 minutes to half an hour. You could argue that it’s because it’s busy, but this is not a good excuse as the place is empty, almost 24/7 and most of the orders come from food apps. It’s quite funny that when I order on just eat my food actually arrives quicker than it would if I went in store. Another time I went there, staff were quite blunt and rude with my mum, Who is not confrontational at at all with hospitality staff. As of recently in the times that I have gone there, there is a young black girl who wears glasses with short hair. Who has quite rudely demanded that I close the door behind me When I enter the shop. And stuck a thumbs up after I did in a patronising manner. a simple “can you close the door behind you please“ would have sufficed, and it seems like she wants to argue with me. It’s not like I would leave the door wide open yet, they have a stiff poorly made heavy duty door which often needs slight pressure to close. If this is a common problem, I suggest you work on refurbishments instead of angrily examining the door every time someone enters. The doors half way off the frame anyway. most recently today, when I arrived granted, it was closed to closing time (about six minutes), the same girl just looked at me and muttered were closed as the cook was slumped behind her on the kitchen counter. The joke is though, I’ve ordered at 10:59 on justeat and each time my orders accepted. If only these people knew they were talking to someone who orders from here multiple times a week maybe they wouldn’t be so curt. As some advice because I don’t have a problem with this company.. improve customer service as you don’t know how many people you are leaving bad impressions on. I probably won’t go back because of this. And I don’t know many who would brush off as much as me to be honest. The food is of decent quality, though sometimes quality is worse than other days and portion sizes are ok.. I suggest if you must eat here only ordering online to save yourself the passive aggressive behaviour, cos if anything happens you can just...

I was getting dinner delivered by Uber Eats from this restaurant. I was visiting from the states along with my husband for work when my husband suggested I try the ox tails. So first of all, I did receive a handful of salad and coleslaw along with the rice with peas. Upon ordering online, I put in the special notes that I did not want the coleslaw or salad and to please substitute steam vegetables. The veggies were $4 for a side and I decided to call to make sure they didn’t charge me since I wasn’t getting the coleslaw and salad. I was told that they still had to charge me for the veggies, even though I wasn’t getting the slaw or salad that came with it. I didn’t think that was fair, but couldn’t win that argument. The dinner was delivered with the coleslaw and the salad and no veggies that I I had to pay for. I called twice and got no answer even though it states that they are open till 11 PM. I decided I was going to call them tomorrow with a complaint about my order then I saw a hair in my food. 😳🤦‍♀️🙄 I am a person that gets a haircut every two weeks and all I can do is brush my “ BLUE “ hair so the length of the hair certainly wasn’t mind. My husband and I were the only ones in this room and he’s a bald headed man. A piece of hair was connected to the meat, so it had to be cooked in it. It was not laying on top of it, where somebody can say it was planted, which is shown in the pictures! I did start eating the coleslaw and the cucumbers from the salad since I didn’t have my vegetables before discovering this but I do intend on taking these pictures and extra side of $12 ox tails to the restaurant tomorrow since they won’t answer the phone while still open before 11 PM. As I was in the area I thought I’d try this place and find the community rather than going prets. I did have to wait a while to get served but I put that down to the UBER EATS and DELIVEROO drivers waiting also for orders. Eventually I got served and ordered the Lunch Time special fried Chicken and rice with coleslaw. £6 Excellent. After about 5 minutes my food arrived in a serving tray (PIC) and I thought wow you get all this for a lunchtime meal….great Value. After opening the cover I discovered it wasn’t Chicken but fish……now you have to understand something about Caribbean restaurants and I’m out of area. So I’m thinking do I complain or do I just eat it as I didn’t see fish as the lunchtime menu so I’m just thinking result. After a short while I heard a conversation about fried Chicken and fried fish, obviously about the meal I had so I mentioned the fact that yes I have the fish, to them being asked how come your eating the fish!!!!!??? I said I eat what I got served….Like I took my own order and served it myself. Anywho the meal was absolutely satisfying and probably 50% less that what I should have paid but that’s down to attention to detail really….not the customers fault. The food was tasty and well presented and staff were polite. Obviously not gonna make it my regular haunt as I was only working in the area on this day but I’ll make a mental bit of it should I find myself here again.
