First time experience . All pakistan's food you can get here . Everything you find here is just nice . Taste is nice . You can get starters , main course , Afghani food ,chicken dishes , mutton , beef and fish dishes !! Here you can find wine ,beer and other drinks etc. Good place to dine and wine 🙂 On weekends specially friday and saturday it full to the limit ! Yoh have to go there and note down your name in the waiting list ! No reservations on these days as the resturant is full with people !! So beaware of the rush on weekends as the waiting time would be half an hour to one hour !! There was a big afghani chapati (bread) it was on hanger type thing . You can see in the pictures i shared below 🙂 you can order pilau as well . All pakistan's cultural food is available there . I enjoyed my mojito very much with raspberries in it !❤ The big huge chapati was awesome . I ordered garlic and the plain one ! Garlic one is the most recomended to everyone if they like garlic ! In deserts they had koya kulfi . It was just superb . It was yummy and scrumptious . I had two haha . This is highly recomended for kulfi lovers !! It is made of dried whole milk or milk thickened by heating in an open iron pan. It becomes khoya as it is called in pakistan's language !! And they drizzled strawberry or choclate syrup of some kind ! So you can have desert you want to have . In the end you have green tea or kashmiri tea as it is known in pakistan ! It is called (pink tea )as well as it is beautifull tea pink colour ! Overall i loved the food ,dinning and service . Ambiance is really nice . All Waiters were really nice thoes who came to serve . . One of the waiters who took the order from us brought the sauce so many times as he knew i loved that very much . Without being rude he served us well . I was very happy as sometimes they get put off or become rude when ever you ask them many times !! But he served well and was very helping !

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Just go if you really looking for authentic Indian food! This is the best so far I have found in England ( coz am from london, yea I been been to most popular ones only and can’t say they are even close to Akbar’s) This was recommended by a dear friend and during this trip of mine, we decided to give it a go! With all the mixed reviews, I had was expecting average experience but I must say I AM BLOWN AWAY WITY THE FOOD AND SERVICE!!! Why? Read on… PRO : Food 10/5 Very flavourful, delicious, soul satisfying, perfect level of spiciness!! Food we ordered: chicken tikka - 3/5 Chicken tandoori masala - 10/5 Sauce platter - chilli chutney was nice! Lamb rogan Josh - 10/5 Garlic naan ( not family) : 10/5 Gulab Jamun with ice cream 5/5 ( better if this is served in a bowl than a plate) this is huge and good for 2 people!!! - Zaif who took our order should have guided us better but glad we dint order 2 else it would have gone wasted. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service 5/5 : Exceptional Service is impeccable. We were served by Zaif, Vishnu, Alif and one more. You must be thinking why so many? That is because, they are very prompt!! - Special mention - VISHU! he is a star! The mutton rogan Josh we ordered was seno from / less saucy. After tasting, I requested if they could get some curry ( without the meat) and he said “ no problem”. He took away the dish and got it the level of sauciness I wanted with no change is taste! I was worried with redoing the taste might get compromised but I am extremely pleased with the customer obsession they displayed! 👌👌👌👌👌 Price 10/5 : VALUE FOR MONEY!! We paid 41 pounds for all of this!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Location - not too far from tram CON : it’s noisy 🎧, paratha was not available! THANK YOU CHEF, Raja Akhtar ( I think was the second name)

I can not fault the food of this place or the decor but what lets this down is the absolutely disgusting level of customer service we had to endure! All was fine till my little one ordered desert instead of coming to inform us he's got no vanilla ice cream he baught strawberry. While ordering dessert I asked for the bill onky then he mentioned "were out of vanilla but because i can't take it off the bill I just gave you strawberry. I said you haven't given us any ice cream as of yet and also she can't eat strawberries so take it off the bill he argued and stated he can't take it off the bill to which I responded you should of informed me there is no vanilla before he then abruptly grabbed the paper go oh for f's sake (in front of my 5 year old) and stormed off. 2 mins later comes back with a scribbled total at the bottom of the same receipt threw it at the table and left. Not even a minute later the lady came with the card machine.and another server with the strawberry ice cream (once we have told them my little ones allergic to strawberries) she took the paper out of my hands and go can I have your card please i said it's part cash and part card she responded but it's only this much... sorry it's not your concern how I pay. The first waiter comes back to the table and goes to the man holding the ice cream leave it bro these lot are headache over a bloody ice cream flavour. And then as we were leaving we were heckled by the waiters and staff about our total. The girl points and laughed while telling her colleagues they paid 20 by card and 20 by cash its only 40. I am to this day absolutely disgusted had heard great deals about the name akbars but what a waste of time. All becaue my little one is allergic to strawberries.

Our experience at Akbars restaurant in Manchester left much to be desired. After a long day celebrating my daughter's birthday in Chester, we decided to drive to Manchester for dinner. Excited to try a new restaurant, we ordered Bhindi Gosht and Daal for my husband and me, and Butter Chicken for our one-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment when the food arrived filled with green chilies, despite not being asked about our spice preferences. Even though we enjoy spicy food and frequently dine out in London, we were taken aback by the overwhelming amount of green chilies in our dishes, including the Butter Chicken meant for our daughter. This oversight could have been easily avoided if the waiter had simply asked about our spice preferences, especially considering it was our first time dining at Akbars. To add to our disappointment, the bill indicated something along the lines of "Asian style," which we interpreted as an indication of spiciness. The manager's attempt to salvage our experience by presenting my daughter with a sundae with sparklers was a sweet gesture, and it did make her happy. However, despite this kind gesture, my husband and I unfortunately did not enjoy the food, and we ended up having to purchase chicken nuggets from McDonald's for our daughter, who usually enjoys Butter Chicken wherever we go. This experience serves as a reminder to the staff at Akbars to not make assumptions about their customers' spice preferences but instead to ask them directly. While the gesture from the manager was appreciated, the lack of consideration for our preferences marred what could have been a pleasant dining experience.

Came here with my 2 friends on a Wednesday around 6.30pm and were quickly seated without any waiting. It was the first time I'd been to Akbar's for over 10 years so was really looking forward to visiting again I decided to try the "Chef's Challenge 1" (see picture) which consisted of a meat feast Balti, portion of pilau rice and a gigantic naan. My friends went for the usual starters and main meal. If I completed the challenge then I would get a certificate and a dessert "of my choice". I received my food shortly after, the main dish was average at best with it just being a mixture of minced meat, lamb, chicken, and potato just thrown together and made into something that was too salty and lacking in taste. The pilau rice was bland with no pieces of meat or any sort salaan to top it off to give it some flavour. On the other hand the naan was tasty and very lite. I completed the challenge in around 20 mins and according to the challenge rules I should've been asked which dessert I wanted for my reward but this didn't happen and I was just brought 2 scoops of ice-cream which was probably the cheapest dessert on the menu. Overall very disappointed with both the quality of food and the service received, I expected better from a well-known restaurant which I had enjoyed visiting 10 years earlier.

Well that was my first visit to this branch. I have been to the one in Glasgow. 1) Booking and ridiculous rule: I almost decided to walk out at the entrance. We booked a table and the staff wouldn’t let us enter until everyone was there. Explained to him that we will place an order even for missing persons and if they don’t arrive its on us but they wouldn’t listen. Finally, a lady came and sorted us out. Seats and space: The seating and tables were extremely tight. Our dishes couldn’t even fit. This was very disappointing. Had to play musical chair with dishes as they couldn’t fit. Very tight room to eat freely. This is probably because they have tried to squeeze in more people and didn’t realize about providing enough room for people to eat with comfort. Food: Bbq: The bbq was excellent and it was well cooked and nice juicy taste. We really liked it. Karahi and curry: The curry dishes were too spicy and didn’t like them as all one could taste is chilly and spice. Had to order yogurt twice to eat. Staff: The service staff was friendly and decent. Iftar platter: The iftar fruit platter was extremely disappointing. Excepted a little more from the management. Rather than just concentrating on saving money should have presented it better and nobody asked them to give it for free.
