Read more‘PAY THE BILL AND GET OUT OF HERE’ My family and I have been to many countries worldwide so as to many restaurants all over the world but we never had to face this kind of ridiculous staff behaviour which we experienced in this Akbar Restaurant. It was on Eid Day and my wife suggested to go there as she been to Akbar Restaurant in Rotherham and she liked it there. We ordered the food as normal and we were expecting to have a good lunch, food comes in and we felt that it is spicier than usual, children complain about it however we said lets continue eating and it may feel better. At the middle of our lunch we felt that it was too spicy to bare and we decided to finish our lunch with the left-over food. We just called the waiter and informed him about the food and he started to argue with us that we should not eat it even half if it was not spicy, we just told him to call his manager as we just wanted to register a complain and there was no intention for anything else. Manage comes in and we explained the situation to him and instead of any apologies he started to argue with us that we should inform them at the start of the food and now we have eaten it, we explained him that we don’t want anything from you but only to correct the waiter and his behaviour that if they are going to prepare the food this spicy they must ask customer for their choice of spicy food which they never asked. Manager seemed to be unhappy on our complain and didn’t want to listen anything and just kept talking about the same point and he never had a word out of his mouth which we call ‘SORRY’ instead he blamed us for everything. Things got even worse than that when he said ‘PAY THE BILL AND GET OUT OF HERE’, my family really got angry because of this ridiculous behaviour from the Manager named NOOR, he even threatened me and my family that if we meet him outside he is gonna teach us a lesson, this was another unacceptable behaviour and my wife and one of our daughters really got mad about that and they started to shout at him because of his behaviour. I thought not to write this review for many days, however I want to help other customers who might visit this restaurant and face same kind of behaviour, again intention is to correct their staff behaviour and avoid having this again with other customers, nothing else. Hope this...
Read moreThis is my first time eating at akbars and as most the reviews also indicate, the food is good but the service is trash. • We called up an hour before on Christmas Eve asking if it’s mandatory we book a table due to the holiday season but the waiter told us we can just walk in. As we walked in we had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table to free up. • There were 2 of us and we were seated at a singular small table with just about enough space for one plate of food. As we ordered a decent amount of food we asked if the EMPTY table next to us could be joined to our table to provide more space or if we could move to one of the 2 empty booths behind us but we were told no and that this was a ‘managers decision’ but the couples on our left and right had their tables joined together to accommodate the amount of food they had ordered so whether this was because we were 2 women or what? I’m not sure but once the food came (which chefs run the food by the way as the servers stand around doing nothing but avoiding eye contact or running away from the customers If you try call one over for extra tissues or cutlery) • The chef was very helpful and moved us to a bigger booth and knew we couldn’t be expected to eat 2 curries, a huge naan and multiple side dishes on a tiny one seater table. • Certain drinks were missed off our order which we couldn’t even amend because the servers refused to come back to our table and not a single server checked if everything was ok with our meal after taking our order but were constantly checking up on tables of big groups of men, offering them extra drinks and starters which said enough. • Had to wait around 15 minutes for someone to finally bring us our bill which we should’ve honestly walked out without paying and I doubt the servers would have even noticed • The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because of the nice chef and the food was of decent quality but the service completely ruined our night and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to family or friends, there are many Indian food hot spots in Manchester with equally good food AND service that makes you feel good about spending your money in an establishment where you were treated with respect and where they’re attentive to a customers needs. Lots of improvement necessary in akbars service...
