I visited Birria Brothers on a Tuesday, drawn in by their enticing offer of 20% off tacos. My entire meal, including drinks and tips, came to a reasonable £35 for one person.
I started with a tequila and pickle juice drink, which turned out to be a delightful surprise—delicious and quite addictive. For a starter, I went with the nachos. While the portion size was generous, I was disappointed by the liquid cheese, which tasted artificial and plasticky. I would have much preferred proper melted grated cheese to complement the dish.
For the main course, I ordered the soft shell pork tacos with the special gravy. Again, the portion was quite generous, but the pork itself was on the dry side. I was expecting more of a marinated, shredded pork that would have been juicier and more flavorful.
The service, however, was a strong point. The staff were quick and very helpful, taking the time to explain the various menu options.
Overall, my experience at Birria Brothers was average, earning a 3 out of 5 from me. There’s potential here, but a few improvements in the food quality could elevate the...
Read moreFantastic service, despite being short staffed the lady that served us was brilliant and offered us a round of drinks for the delays in receiving our drinks food etc.
The food unfortunately just did not hit the spot. I'd been excited to try this place for ages and the presentation of the food makes it look amazing. But the flavour and the taste is just not there. The beef tacos are quite dry and the dipping sauce doesn't add any like juicy flavour. It was giving watery gravy. The guac is average and the loaded fries once again the toppings didn't taste like cheese or spicy or anything. I feel like there are much better places across Greater Manchester with a more authentic flavour. It's also very expensive at £9 for a portion of plain tortilla chips & guac, like that at one time would be the price of a meal, or like nearly £16 for 3 tacos, and really isn't worth it. Ended up giving my friend food to take home and felt annoyed...
Read moreThe food was delicious and I got the vegan versions of the dishes. Taco Truck Fries with Vegan Cheese & Vegan Spicy Mayo delicious and spicy how I like it. My main meal was Tacos De Canasta with refried black beans probably the best crunchy tacos I've had in Manchester. My drink was Jarritos Mandarin to wash down The Mexican delights.
The service staff were lovely and even fellow customers were nice and out going.
The atmosphere was great and had a homely dive bar feel to it and it shares the space with the Koffee Pot.
I very rarely give places five stars on everything but it hit the spot in every way.
Very welcoming & considerate staff.
The food was filling and they deserve that rating, even a Mexican person I was speaking to while I was waiting for a table said it's authentic to Mexican tacos places 🌮 I really enjoyed it. A little bit of Mexico...
