Short review : Shiba Inu themed tea house. Excellent bubble tea with or without cream cheese foam.

Detailed review: A chance encounter while walking on Princess Street searching for our hotel helped us discover this place. The scores of customers queuing for their bubble tea was reason enough to venture.

We opted for the premium series: Brown Sugar Tapioca Milk with Crùme Foam. I have been wanting to try this for a while as it has been a fad in Eastern Asia for quite sometime and it was worth it. This experience felt like 3 drinks in one cup. The trick is to first have the salty cheese foam through the provided lid at a 45 degree tilt – ensuring that one gets the right amount of cream cheese and tea. The second is the boba tea vía the straw and finally mix it all up! All in all a very unique experience.

We also had the black sesame tapioca milk - exactly what the name suggests.

In our subsequent visit we tried the popular Strawberry cheese foam which is a strawberry jam granita with milk best had over a long time, and the premium sweet potato milk which is quite thick. We got a size up on our fourth drink.

This business also does fresh fruit tea, Shiba shaped waffles & sundaes which seem very popular with the crowd.

The outlet is small, has quirky interiors (thanks to the Shiba Inu pics) and minimal seating arrangement so one is better off opting for a takeaway.

I will not be surprised if a poll rates it as the best bubble tea outlet in Manchester. Highly recommended! We will most certainly be back for more.

On a side note - The menu tells you exactly what you are going to get in your drink. Very self explanatory. So for the coffee/tea naive visiting in evening like myself, one could avoid drinks containing tea (so that you're not up all night wondering why or pretending you're batman) and opt for the premium/ fresh...

Edit/Update (Feb 2023): They accepted my reusable cup (not Ohayo branded) here recently, but proceeded to make my drink in a plastic cup, poured that into my reusable cup, then threw the plastic cup away. I really don't understand why the person who took my order (Brittany) said they could accept my reusable cup. Very disappointed. Last time, they made my drink directly in my reusable cup. The drinks have also increased in price and I do not think it is worth it anymore (particularly if you pay for non-dairy milk like myself). There is a better (in my opinion) bubble tea place nearby in Arndale Market called A Nice Sip that also do not charge extra for soya milk.

Original review (May 2022): Really love the black sesame tapioca milk tea here. They also accepted my reusable cup which was great! I've always had great service in-store too :)

One thing which I find a bit confusing is what can be made vegan on their menu: they do state which drinks you can have with soy/oat milk instead, but even when swapping the milk, the drink might not be vegan, e.g. the milo tapioca milk (I'm guessing because of the milo powder). They have a vegan menu online on their website which excludes milo and taro tapioca milk (and other drinks) but it is not clear on their menu in-store which says you can swap the milk (leading one to think that it might be vegan after doing so). To further add to the confusion, when I asked on Instagram if the taro powder was vegan, they said yes, so now I am not sure why they have not included it on their online vegan menu..

Soy milk used to be free, but recently they have started charging 60p...

Another reason why spring is special to me is because of Easter! I especially loved this special interior design when I popped over to Ohayo Tea 💗

My first time in shop as I usually just order via Uber eats. My personal go to stop for bubble tea because honestly based on my taste tests with the others lol this is my favourite.

My go to orders all come from the “Brown Sugar Series” which I am currently obsessed with!! The “Dirty Oreo” & “Brown Sugar Tapioca Milk” with either Soya milk or Oat milk! Regular ice and in a Large of course- my current faves!

I love the packaging as well!!it was a nice surprise too lol, like it’s own mini tote cup holder. I will definitely be moving on to try other series on the menu!

Customer service 10/10, tea 10/10, wait time wasn’t as long as I expected actually, but then again I went in before it became very busy at their mentioned peak times. I would say leave about 10-20minutes max on a busy day.

P.s: I had this with some pastries from Wong Wong and the combo was perfect!please check out that review...

Wow đŸ€© I love Shiva Inu And Bubble Tea's ! They made it real ! It's a nice little shop with few seatings. The decoration is beautiful yet simple and fresh. It can be really crowded as they are not a chain and have signature drinks. You can order at the counter but for a better overview it's better to order from the screens where you can also get a better view on the different options for each drink. You can customise your drinks and even buy merch. I took a tote bag in black plus a pins and a bubble tea holder (as I like to drink bubble teas regularly everywhere in the world). I chose matcha with milk and tapioca brown sugar. It's delicious 😋 I think it's the best bubble tea I got so far and I had more than 300 over the last year's in different locations/countries. You can pay card and cash. The only bĂ©mol would be that it's lacking toilets but as it's more a go-to , take up place it makes sense. You can also order shiba bites but I'm quite sure it's not gluten free. Anyway, if I come back to Manchester one day, I'll definitely come back ! Thank you 💞
