Rudy's Pizza Napoletana - Portland Street — Restaurant in Manchester

Me and a group of friends visited here last month as a birthday surprise for one of the members. What an awful experience! To start off our waitress never smiled and was extremely passive aggressive when taking the order. When the drinks were ready they were left on the side while she had a natter for 10 minutes with her colleague, right in front of them! When it came to bringing them over she proceeded to say “I forgot who this is for” placed it on the table and just walked off. Later into the night she brought dips to the table, didn’t say a word and slid them across the table. Then the food came, one of the plates of food was left and by the time it came to the table half of us were finished. So eventually this awful waitress did a check back and before we could answer she WALKED AWAY! Then to top it all off when we are done we were looking around to ask for the bill, she had finished work, sat down and poured herself a pint! Our new waitress brought the bill over and I asked for the service charge to be taken off. After we paid I thought I should explain the service charge being taken off was nothing to do with her and instead our insufferable waitress. As we were leaving we said thank you to all the other staff. This new waitress then rolled her eyes at us! Absolutely foul place, all staff need training on how to deal with customers. As a manager myself at a restaurant I am appalled by the treatment...

Unfortunately the food cross contamination was the biggest issue I had with this place. I asked before placing my order if the veg and non veg pizzas were made separately (as I dont eat meat) and was assured they were. Whilst eating my pizza I was horrified to notice that that was not the case. I was situated at the counter table where the pizza was being made. And could see that the lady putting the toppings on the pizza would take meats and place them on the pizza and then pick up cheese with the same hand as well as other vegetarian options. There was no washing of hands, using seperate gloves or even any seperate creation between the non veg. If that wasnt bad enough the guy who was stretching out the pizzas and cooking them was also grabbing the meats to help with making the pizzas and would stretch the pizza (vegetarian) I was horrified to notice this and stopped eating the pizza. When I alerted my waitress of this she tried to assure me that they do wash hands between touching meat and non meat. Which was clearly not the case! Such a shame that this place does not offer proper vegetarian options. For many that eat meat this might not be an issue however I think a resturant like yourself should have more respect for the customer and what they can and can't eat. It bring into question whether they take...

Tried Rudy’s for the first time with two of my best friends on their recommendation, and came here yesterday evening around 8pm.

Atmosphere was very casual but vibrant, which was nice. Also, the staff in the branch were very accommodating and friendly throughout our time there, with service being very quick and seamless from the time of ordering to receiving our pizzas.

Special mention goes to Adele for making this experience a memorable one. She had recommended me the Agnello Vegana pizza (which I also thought of before, but impressed to see her knowledge shine through on what to get), and added the Goat’s Cheese to help elevate the pizza. Also, she was very attentive, courteous, lovely to chat to and came over to check if I was happy with her recommendation whilst having pizza stuffed in my mouth (which you will see below, was a resounding yes!).

When the Pizza came out, and was served on my table, it smelt absolutely divine. The crust was so identical to the pizzas you’d get from Italy and had that satisfying crunch with every bite. All of the ingredients along with the addition of the Goat’s Cheese was just a masterstroke.

Overall, all in all, I will be coming back again very soon as I could not get enough of the pizza, and I will be definitely recommending this to all...
