As a celebratory meal for my Daughter passing her exams my Son suggested we visit Nakhon . Now , living in Blackburn, that's almost a whole hour away from Didsbury and trusting my Sons taste buds we decided to make the trip and boy was I not disappointed. The place itself is small and a kind of intimate place , reminded me of a nice cosy italian . The vibe is hushed and the food deffo does the talking. For starters we had the dumplings , fried chicken thighs and chicken satay . All were devoured with glee and special mention has to go to the fried chicken thighs which were exceptional and a good portion . The salad that usually accompanies meals is just an afterthought but not in this place. Each piece of vegetable was beautifully prepped and pickled . Some sharp with chilli, others soft and sweet which matched all 3 starters down to a tee . Good start . For the mains , we ordered the railway rice beef , pad Thai and some chicken mince with chilli thing , the name escapes me . Again all three were devoured . The railway rice was beautiful and flavoursome with just the right amount of beef to rice ratio, again the salad with it was perfect. I ordered a ginger and lemonade mocktail to wash it all down with and it was refreshing and quite simply yum yum . The prices were ok but you get what you pay for . The staff were attentive and courteous. So all in all a very pleasant experience , great food in a perfect surrounding.

Genuinely never been angry at a takeaway from anywhere before until eating from here. As you can see from the pictures they think these portions are acceptable for main courses for £14.95-15.95. An absolute rip off and a joke that they think it's acceptable to charge that amount for what are starter portions at best. Glad I didn't order a starter at £9-ish now, think it would've been a single bite. On top of the portion size, there was barely any meat in either the thai green chicken curry or the beef massaman. And to top it all off it was average at best taste and ingredient quality. All four diners have travelled Thailand and south east Asia extensively so we know what we're looking for. This ain't it. Do not order from here unless you like child portions and average quality.

Honestly the place we wanted to go to was closed so we walked down and came across this jem. It had a halal sticker on the front window so we went in. It was a cute looking cosy place so we took a seat by the fireplace. Seating was nice. They had a swing like chair with flowers so would be great for pictures. The owner/ staff was lovely. Menu had great options. Food came very fast. Was hot and fresh. Wasn't the best food I had but still very tasty 4/5.We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere just bit on the small side so if it was full I might not have liked it as much but I went on a quite Thursday night.. Will be back to try more options. Give it a go. Free parking on road outside.

We attended on a slow Tuesday evening, we were a pre-booked table of 6 and the only table in the restaurant. The design and layout of this place is cute, however there was no background music and as a big group we felt the need for us to talk quieter as there was no atmosphere. We weren’t going to mention anything or do a review but sadly after our visit we couldn’t not review.

First started as it took 20 minutes to take a drinks order from us. The drinks were delivered one by one, two of our group ordered the fruit cider and the drinks were decanted into a glasses (not glasses sufficient to hold a full Kopperberg) we then watched the server top his own glass up with both the remaining ciders and drink it himself.

He then took our food order, the server then sat himself down at an empty table, with his cider and was on his phone. After about 20 minutes we noticed the chef (working solo) bring out two meals to the pass. They sat there for a further 15 minutes whilst waiting for the other dishes to arrive. By the time they were delivered to our table they were cold. One of our party asked for it to be returned to the kitchen and the other continued to eat it due to being so hungry. The rest of the starter food continued to come out plate by plate.

When it came to the main courses the same happened. Our server was sat down with food at the pass. the first two meals came out and then the next two 5 minutes later. The final meal came out over 10 minutes after the first. They forgot our side orders and in the end we asked them not to cook them as it was after the meals had been eaten. It was very obvious that there was only one chef in the kitchen. I completely understand on a quiet night but I feel that there should have been a pre warning that food comes out as it’s ready, similar to Wagamamas (we would have been more sympathetic). The food itself was delicious however one of the party had chicken and rice, whilst the rice was very hot the chicken was lukewarm and plain.

We were never asked if we wanted more drinks and had to prompt our server to order and even then only half the order came again with a long wait for the rest of it and the server remaining on his phone most of our service.

The server then introduced himself to us as the owner. We mentioned some of our concerns about the meal, he didn’t once apologise and he tried to blame the meals on there only being one chef, even when we mentioned that service had been slow.

I would never ask for a discount but given that food had been cold, waiting for our table meals and service so slow and only being served half the drinks, I thought our bill might reflect this, however it didn’t.

I would like to add that if this place had been better staffed I believe our experience would have been completely different it was just very...

Eventually after 10 phone calls I managed to get a table booked at 9.15pm at night when they answered the phone.

Got here at 5.30pm when the table was booked for and I walked into the restaurant to a female dressed in smart black clothing with her shoes off and feet up doing her make up who states to be a friend of one of the staff members at restaurant waiting for them but then delivers our starters and main courses. Then goes on to say to our table that she was doing the accounts for the restaurant so I wasn’t really sure what was going on.

The staff then made us aware that there was no alcohol available and if we wished to buy it from a supermarket close by that we could bring it into the restaurant which was a bit disappointing as we had come for a nice meal out before going to watch a show nearby. Only soft drinks were available from the restaurant.

Between 3 of us we had ordered 3 starters and 3 main meals and each of the the starters and mains had been warmed up in the microwave. One of the mains being a lamb shank had to be sent back because it was loop warm and the food was witnessed to be put into the microwave and warmed up which then came out steaming hot which is how it should’ve been in the first place.

When we questioned the restaurant on why our food had been microwaved and warmed up which isn’t acceptable and should be ideally cooked from scratch.

We were the only 3 in the restaurant initially and there was no atmosphere in the restaurant (no background music) until they eventually put some music on a mobile phone.

Overall the experience was not great and the food was warmed up microwave food but I wouldn’t return as the overall experience wasn’t the best. Had we not heard the microwave pinging and our table being the only one in the restaurant so it couldn’t have been more obvious, we may...

Having heard a positive experience about this place, we decided to go here for dinner however we regretted it. We were seated very quickly and our order taken. However we ordered two starters, one nachos and the other calamari. After 30 minutes the “nachos” came, which were actually prawn crackers and not nachos. The calamari followed 20 minutes later after asking four times. The calamari was chewy like a rubber tyre as it was over cooked. It was disgusting. Up till this time no serviettes or cutlery was placed on the table at all. We had to ask for them. We kept on enquiring about the mains as 45 minutes had passed since ordering. 50 minutes after ordering and words later two of the 5 main dishes come out, but minus the noodles that are the accompanying sides. 10 minutes later still no sign of the noodles to go with these dishes and no sign of the other mains. The waitress who took the order is asked again for the umpteenth time where is our order and could she come to the table to explain. She was at the bar counter. She replies that she is looking at our order and do we not want her to sort it out. It was not a way to talk to a customer. Especially when the food is late and is coming in instalments. At this point still no sign of the food and it had been over an hour since we had placed the order. So we walked out. Outside there was another customer who told us he too was experiencing the same service from the restaurant. Ridiculous prices and utter rubbish service!! Go else where and spend your hard earned money where you will be...
