Teething troubles, but it will be great.
So let's get the negatives out of the way first. Pizza was undercooked (almost raw dough in crust, which should be golden and have a little char on the outside); table was dirty; bottle of water was really dirty. But what makes this a 4/5 rather than 2/5?
We have to look past these issues as teething troubles rather than part of a bigger problem of the restaurant. Ok, the dirty table and bottle shouldn't have been in that condition regardless of how new a place is, but you have a young, energetic team who were welcoming, positive, and represented the ethos and vision of the business. I was not charged for the pizza, even though I ate it (apart from the doughy crust) - I would have paid, but the gesture was kind. Maybe the pizzaiolo (who was on his own) just needs to relax into his role here and not rush things (it happens to all of us); people will wait for good food. And indeed, it is good. Creative pizzas far from traditional Neapolitan with a lot of Spanish and Greek ingredients, but pizza is about whether the ingredients work, not where they're from, and the selection will not disappoint. I was pleased to see the 'nduja is from Spilinga, so clearly research has gone into sourcing products (and stating the calories by the dishes and most drinks is a good move).
The place is casual; a real family and friends vibe, exactly as a pizzeria should be, and is brought to life by creative pizze and welcoming, friendly staff. Should you try it? Absolutely. Will I give it another go? Of course! See...

ย ย ย Read moreAbsolutely amazing! I recently dined at Franco Manca and had an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly smiles and a warm atmosphere. The decor is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual outings and special occasions.
Now, let's talk about the pizza โ it was simply divine! The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully chewy on the inside. I tried the Margherita and the Pesto, Stilton, Potato Special, and both were bursting with flavor. The fresh, high-quality organic ingredients made all the difference. The mozzarella was creamy, the tomato sauce had just the right amount of tang, and the toppings were generous and well-balanced.
The service was top-notch as well. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure we had a great dining experience. Our waiter made excellent recommendations and was always available to answer any questions.
Overall, Franco Manca exceeded my expectations in every way. I can't wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings. If you're a pizza lover, this place should be at the top...
