Arrived at 5pm as per our booking. We were advised of 3 tapas dishes they had run out of then told there was a 50% discount on tapas. We ordered to be told a further 3 dishes were unavailable. As the menu is small this meant a limited choice for the 4 of us. Our party was booked in advance so we were expected and they should have planned accordingly to ensure that they had food available. The food arrived sporadically (which you expect to a certain extent with tapas) however the final 2 dishes arrived 25 minutes after the rest had been eaten. One dish was returned as it was cold (king prawns) and brought back 'reheated' - this was rejected for food safety reasons. We ordered some bread which never arrived either. When the bill arrived there was no discount on the food, the waitress said she'd got it wrong and the discount had ended at 3pm - she was clearly perturbed when we questioned this and asked for the manager (who was unavailable apparently). We were very disappointed by the whole experience. It is a shame as this could be a gem of a place if it was better organised. Some of the tapas dishes were nice but honestly, not nice enough to encourage...
Read moreI was very excited to try Beeswing as the reviews looked good, the location is great and the concept seems very nice. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed by our experience. The table we were sat at wasn’t properly cleaned (and the same was the case for other tables). I had a spicy margarita which was very good and a glass of wine that was quite disappointing considering the price (£9). We also shared some plates of food: a tuna and tomato salad that was a nice concept and would’ve been perfect except it had way too much salt (and this comes from a person who usually eats salty foods) mussels - they were ok but nothing spectacular -the quail egg and mushroom pinchos - which also were too salted the prawns in oil which seemed to be the biggest joke in Manchester - we literally paid £15 for 4 small prawns! I think the place has potential but clearly needs a lot of improvements before it can get to the level of what it’s advertising to be. There are other places in Manchester with similar concepts and prices that have a much higher quality (cleanliness, friendliness and much...
Read moreWalked in Friday evening. Was told to take a seat. No one came over to give us a menu even though the place was empty. After waiting forever we went and grabbed some menus. Again no one came over to take our order. Finally someone came and I asked for a Sauvignon Blanc and the waitress looked at me as though I was talking another language. I then pointed at the item on the menu and she was like what else? I don’t get the passive aggressiveness?! There was also a huge dish that looked like an omelette just sat outside the kitchen with the odd fly just sat on it. Behind which there was a grumpy looking chef. All in all, the service is appalling here, the staff is rude & unpleasant for literally no reason (or are they just low key racist?!), I wouldn’t trust any of the food here, and there is zero atmosphere to the place. Don’t waste your time or money!
Updated: as you can see such an entitled response from the owner. No acknowledgment of rude and unwelcoming staff. Avoid...
