After trying a large number of Chinese restaurants in Manchester we have officially found our favourite! 🙌🥢 Firstly the service was unmatched, a special shout out to ‘Jason’ who was looking after us, I felt a genuine warm and kindness from him as a person, nothing was too much to ask and he was very informative and helpful when it came to both the menu and taking orders. All other staff we came across during our visit were also super friendly and made us feel right at ‘Home’ (pun intended)… The atmosphere was second to none, by far the nicest setting Chinese restaurant I have been to in the Manchester area. The lighting, vibe and even tableware is refined and curated to add to the experience. Last but not least, the food was unreal and the portions were absolutely massive (the three roast meats especially was HUGE, we had to end up taking it back with us)!! The Crispy Belly Pork, Duck and Char Sui was out of this world, something I would definitely recommend if you’re unsure of what to order. My partner had the Crispy Beef in Cantonese sauce which she said was the best she’d had and it didn’t feel heavy and sickly like sometimes it can. We also shared an appetiser platter which was a great way to try multiple things, everything on this was great, but the ribs especially were 10/10!! I also liked the fact they offered IPAs sourced from Asia, at a lot of Chinese restaurants the drinks offer can sometimes be very limited, which was not the case here, the Neon Jungle IPA was top notch and was something I’d expect to be found in a nice craft beer bar! Overall, would highly recommended visiting for yourself, you will find the prices slightly higher than nearby alternatives such as Yum Cha, but the extra cost is 100% worth it due to the food quality, freshness and fantastic service/ambience ❤️

Wow, wow, wow. What an impressive first visit! I brought my parents (who came to visit me in Manchester) for dim sum after hearing positive feedback from my close friends and foodie friends. My dad was a bit overexcited with this new restaurant and decided to tour around the building which was quite embarrassing for us but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered Crispy Brown Rice Cheung Fun (脆皮紅米腸粉), Siu Mai - Prawn & Meat Dumplings (蟹黃蒸燒賣), Crispy Radish Dumplings (千絲蘿蔔酥), Spare Ribs & Chicken Feet Rice (鳳爪排骨飯), and Stir Fried Mixed Seafood with Ho Fun (三鮮河粉). Oh my word! Everything was amazing. My friends said that the rice noodle are made fresh on the day and I can confirm that these were definitely fresh made on the day. Both cheung fun and ho fun were super silky and soft. - Cheung fun was filled with crispy prawns which gave contrast to the rice noodle roll. - Ho fun was big in portion and there was a wide variety of seafood and no fish balls - yay! - Siu mai was also soft in texture like meatballs with visible prawns. - The rice was also lovely and nostalgic just like how my late grandad used to have. Again, portion is big enough for sharing. - The radish dumplings were also lush. They had strong radish flavour withvisible shredded radish. My parents and I were very impressed with the food and experience today. They even reminded me to leave a positive review for this place. We'll be back very soon. Highly recommended!

- dim sum £4.80-6.50 each - fish congee £7.80 - crispy chow mein £7.80 - spicy tofu & veg £12.80 - two roast meats and rice £13.80 different from your usual yum cha place bc of its incredibly clean and sleek ambiance and interior! moreover, you don't order using the 'tick sheet' and instead, you order from a member of staff. their menu is very big with lots of the classics but also a few unique dishes such as brown rice cheung fun, mango lava bun, buddha's delight dumplings and coconut milk tart. i would recommend ordering the brown rice cheung fun particularly bc it is rare to find in the uk. it is filled with a fried, rather than steamed, prawns which was a nice contrast in textures. the standout for me was the taro croquette bc it was generously packed with taro and meat filling and the pastry was very flakey. the two roast meats was another favourite bc, unlike other places, it was actually meaty and not just bones. we usually get vegetarian crispy chow mein but they recommended ordering a spicy tofu dish with crispy chow mein on the side so we did and it was very delicious! but the crispy chow mein alone was almost £8!? £3-5 would’ve been a lot more reasonable since it is JUST noodles but we’ll make a note of that for next time... the dim sum, congee and roast meats were reasonably priced though so i would definitely come back for those.

Today, two friends and I visited Home Chinese after a long day, hoping for a nice meal. We didn’t want to wait in long lines, so we decided to try our luck here. Unfortunately, it turned into a frustrating experience from the moment we arrived.

When we asked if there was a table for three, the floor manager just left us hanging there without answer, tending to other things while we waited for an answer. All we needed was a simple “yes” or “no” so we could decide whether to stay or move on to another place. After dealing with train delays and a tough day, the last thing we wanted was to wait aimlessly in a poorly organized queue.

After an extended wait, we were finally told that there was no table available. I mentioned to the floor manager that it would’ve been considerate to let us know earlier, sparing us from wasting time standing around. Shockingly, he responded rudely, saying, “It’s just 10 minutes—how is that a long time?” This kind of response was completely disrespectful and dismissive, especially when time can mean different things to different people under this situation.

We chose this place because we’d had a pleasant experience here before, one of my friends really like their dishes, but after this treatment, it’s safe to say we won’t be returning. If basic courtesy and communication are missing, it’s hard to enjoy a meal. This was a deeply frustrating experience, and I hope the management can improve their approach to customer service...
