Lovely quaint bar and restaurant type of establishment that served small plates of tapas along side an extensive range of beers and spirits. The food had good veggie options: halloumi, mushroom croquettes, potatoes and a few other options; reasonably prices and delivered to the table very quickly. High quality and authentic.
The only issue was ... I wasn't sure how it worked! I went it thinking it was a bar, but it had restaurant layout, Ithe music was like a soft techno for the afternoon which wasnt reallt fiting for the vibe. I wasn't too sure how to go about ordering food as it felt like someone might come to take my order but instead you order at the bar - the bar itself is very open but small, as well as a open kitchen so the space is not very private, there were lots of tables that were reserved so only had a few options to sit. Read moreWe popped into Molly House just before the kitchen closed on a Saturday night. We got our order in quickly. We are glad we did. Coming out to us was foccaccia with Iberico han, mushroom croquettes, scallops, veg in puff pastry & patats bravas. We loved them all ! Simple in preparation but packed with flavour !
Molly House has a very casual vibe. Place your order for food & drink at the bar. Your drink is poured immediately & food arrives at your table within minutes. Talking to a number of locals we found out that this place is well loved. They were a bit rushed at the bar but they served us with aplomb. A combo of high top tables & regular tables, a smaller area on the ground floor & more room upstairs. I believe it is one of the better food choices in...
Read moreI went here after finding it on Google maps. 1st attempt i got here late on Sunday after getting off the train to find if missed the kitchen :( the food looked amazing though and I returned later in the week and I'm glad i did.
The bar staff were friendly and happily chatted away to the loner perched at the end of the bar. Especially the lovely ale wench.
I ordered 3 dishes from the tapas menu the 1st two arrived i had almost finished them and i was thinking that they had forgotten my enchiladas then they appeared from the kitchen and by the end of them i was absolutely stuffed.
Wood, exposed brick & a good selection of real ales and craft beers gives the place the feel of a hipster bar only without the hipsters
Next time I'm in town I'll be...
