Have been to this place many times when the lovely Italian man owned it. However it now has a new owner the menu is rubbish with not much choice like jacket potato we ordered a sausage cob sausage barely warm and bread looked as though it had been cut with a blunt knife not even nicely presented hubby had breakfast cob and saidcthe same thing undercooked bacon cold sausage and no runny yoke on egg bread just fell to pieces. We had to wait quite a while for food as well. The only redeeming factor was the tea was nice. All staff need more training cook defo does and needs to learn how to present food so it looks at least appetising. Too many staff crowding out the kitchen and yelling upstairs to staff. Suffice it to say we definitely will not be returning such a shame as the previous owner had a belting little place with a fab menu and tasty food and polite friendly staff. I appreciate the new owner has only been there for a few weeks so fairly new but definitely needs to pull out all the stops to improve everything. Quite expensive as we for...

I'm giving it one star purely because of how the manager/owner (not sure what he is) treats his staff.

We had a lovely lady serve us, she took a genuine interest in our child, she was so friendly and chatty. Five stars for you kind lady!

The owner/manager couldn't have been more opposite. I didn't see him smile the entire time I was there, he spoke to her and other staff members in such a disrespectful manner.

He told off another member of staff for not asking us if we would like anything else, when we had already asked for the bill. He said so loud the whole downstairs restaurant could hear.

It's a shame really. He has a lovely building, fantastic staff, I imagine a very successful business because it was so busy the whole time. So I'm unsure why he felt the need to be so rude.

The fact of the matter is, we were there half an hour and my husband, who's not the most observant person, commented on his demeanour and attitude.

Maybe if you're reading this owner/manager you might consider being kinder to your staff. A little kindness...

Hi, I beleive this is my first review ever besides game reviews and it is a very special one for me. For about a year now I have come here from time to time and its always a very special and cozy time for me. The owner is a very nice man if you speak to him, interesting enough he is Italian hahaha and he as an absolutely amazing accent. The staff are always very nice to me, they give me really sound choices when i ask for their opinion and they are always so kind and always try to make my experience as memorable as it can be, the best part about that is that I feel like they do not do it on purpose. The food is homemade, I always get the ham and muchroom fritatta whis is really good but the sweets, oh the sweets 😊 they are made by this Sicilian woman and they are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. I tell you, its not the cheapest place but it is an amazing place, you absolutely feel like you are actually paying for the comfort and the quality. I hope the ones reading this get a chance to visit this place it is absolutely gorgeous, in...

Dear tea room owner I am a big supporter of local businesses rather then big chains save our high street and all that. But today I am sad to say my self and my family experience bad customer service from start to finish it was shocking. The young lady who served us was fine and we felt sorry for her. but the owner and the blonde bomb waitress need customer training. Cracked cup no side plates. We even witness a couple customers walk out and the sheer manner and attitude to totally in in in unexpectable we will never return

Visited the tea rooms when the weather was scorching, so the outside seating was perfect. It is in a courtyard so sheltered from the wind and a nice little sun trap. The food was nice, and good sized portions. Waiting staff were lovely and really helpful. Only faults were the drinks were a little pricey for what they were and the way management were talking to and treating their staff was not great. Was embarrassing to hear them talk so rudely to their staff, and a bit uncomfortable to witness.

Lovely old building with vintage crockery and friendly waitresses however the afternoon tea was far too expensive for how little the portions were, just order a scone instead (although the cream didn't seem like proper clotted cream either). They did accommodate us with booking only a couple of hours prior though and asked if anyone had allergies (we didn't). The tea arrived in large pretty teapots, not loose leaf but the assam tea tasted very nice.
