Just average overall.

Staff seemed quite bored and gave the impression that they hate their job, which makes the whole experience really sad. I find that friendliness of staff really makes or breaks the experience, and this store needs some improving on this.

Nobody really cared about cleaning up tables, almost all tables were full of dishes and rubbish leftover from previous visitors. Very off putting.

The cakes look absolutely stunning in the display, and are quite expensive, so I expected them to be amazing. I got the gorgeous pink cake with lemon, raspberry and pistachio. For £5 however, I was a bit disappointed. The sponge was dry, the icing a bit too sweet. What a shame.

My iced mocha was delicious. No complaints there.

Overall I think you can skip this place, I would recommend you go upstairs to „the place to eat” which is owned by John lewis, which has much nicer staff and actually fresh, delicious cakes...

Dropped in with my sister to have a coffee and pot of tea. Saw a pkt (small) of ginger nut biscuits which I luv but there was no price on them so I asked the lady who didn’t know but asked her colleague. When he said snacks are £2.50 I said is that for the pkts of nuts but he said no snacks were all that price so I said I think I’ll give them a miss. I know prices are going up but £2.50 for a pkt of 3 biscuits is a bit much. Very disappointed. Good job it was a lovely cup of tea which would definitely of been better with an affordable pkt of biscuits. Cafe wasn’t busy but even thou all tables had been cleared of crockery etc they had not been cleaned down. Lady serving and taking the money was friendly and...

I went to this cafe to meet a friend. When I got there, I was just really thirsty and got myself a Coke. Went to the counter to pay for it, but didn't even receive a glass. When I asked for one it was pointed out that I should grab a glass from the table where the tap water was standing. The glasses were still hot from the dishwasher and in a horrible state as they really needed replacing by now. For the price you pay for a can of coke, I would expect a glass given to me at the counter with ice and lemon and not the rude...
