Caffe Rizzoli — Restaurant in Nottingham

Me and my parents went into the Caffe Rozzoli in Nottingham and safe to say we will not be returning. First of all, the cold drink selection wasn’t exactly ideal, the only canned drink they served is Pepsi and the rest of the cold drink options weren’t easy to understand what they were. I ended up ordering a pink grapefruit drink, I checked with the waiter and she said this drink would be sweet and specifically asked for NO ice. That’s when I noticed that she wasn’t even writing our orders down, she was just ‘remembering’ them. My parents also ordered drinks and we all ordered a cake each, but at almost £8 for a slice of cake, it wasn’t exactly brilliant. The chocolate fudge cake that I had was so bitter, and the so called ‘sweet drink’ that was supposed to have no ice in, came with ice and was so tart it was difficult to drink. Going back to the cakes, to say they were £8 each, me and my family expected to receive a scoop of icecream, maybe even some whipped cream with our desserts but all we had were the slices. I’m writing to share my disappointing experience during a recent visit to this place

I ordered a cheesecake, scone, café latte, and an americano. I specifically asked your staff to confirm whether the cheesecake was vegetarian (i.e., free from gelatin). Instead of getting a clear answer, I was first served the coffees, and only after several minutes was I informed that the staff couldn’t confirm if the cheesecake was suitable for vegetarians. Eventually, I was told there was only one vegan apple pie available, which I accepted. Unfortunately, by that time, the coffee had gone cold.

To make things worse, I was charged £22 for 2 coffees, 1 scone, and 1 apple pie, which felt unreasonable given the poor service and lack of product knowledge from staff

This experience left me quite dissatisfied, I hope steps will be taken to better train staff and ensure they are informed about the food being served, especially regarding dietary...

I visited Rizzoli café on a Sunday with my daughter, and we had such a beautiful experience. The moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve been transported straight to the heart of Rome everything from the atmosphere to the aromas is so authentically Italian.

We had the lasagna, which was absolutely delicious rich, flavourful, and comforting. Then we treated ourselves to some gelato, ice cream and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever had – creamy, full of flavour, and clearly made with care.

The staff were so kind and welcoming – all Italian, and it really made the whole experience feel even more genuine. There was a warmth and friendliness that made us feel at home.
