Okay... I'm just out of the restaurant so all of this is fresh in my memory. Bear with me, I am supplying photographic evidence. We were really excited to spend our last night in Nottingham by what was revered as the top Italian restaurant in Nottingham. The menu looked good but the deeper we looked, the more red flags started coming up. As a restaurant that prides itself in authenticity and tradition, the first was the cream in the carbonara - something completely unheard of in Italy. We gave the benefit of the doubt and just ordered something else. First was the selection of Italian bread. I was particularly excited since the table was supplied with its own olive oil and balsamic vinegar so this was going to be dipping heaven for me. What arrived at the table was what can only be described as the 4 pack hot dog bun set from Sainsbury's in appearance. I wish I was exaggerating but then we felt the bread and it was cold and stale. We sent it back and asked for the focaccia instead. What arrived was a flat pizza with garlic and oil, some tomatoes and sprigs of rosemary. It was at this point that I had lost hope. The mains were okay, the tagliatelle Bolognese was underseasoned but otherwise not bad and be margarita was well season but would have appreciated a slightly longer cook. We asked for the dessert menu and I asked for them to substitute the caramel in the Panna cotta with a berry coulis and I'm happy the restaurant was able to accommodate. The dessert was still underwhelming but I was starving at that point. I wasn't disappointed with the drinks but I was let down by the service. The restaurant wasn't busy but staff were so disorganised, they were having trouble running a smooth service. Furthermore, I cannot stress how uncomfortable it was seeing all the staff walking around with their masks barely on and coming right up to our faces to make small talk and flirt with my partner right in front of me. I could not further recommend for serious improvements to be made as there is potential for the restaurant to stand out.

I had my birthday meal with my friends booked for 8 people. An older man was our waiter, extremely rude and arrogant. Also smelled very bad, very unhygienic. We spent the meal listening to his very out of place and unnecessary “jokes”. He thought he was funny, but actually was just rude to everyone. Put our moods down the second we sat down. It got to the point where we all started talking back to him, and he didn’t stop. When my cake came out he ASKED FOR SLICES FOR EVERYONE. He also told us how it stained his hands and he had to wash them 3 times. I cut a slice for HIM to try it and he shouted across the restaurant how small the slice was?? I am PAYING for your food and service. I planned to be polite and leave some behind, which I quickly changed my mind about afterwards. I spoke to my friends loudly how I will refuse to pay the service charge because the waiter was nothing but arrogant and stuck up. Please learn how to not ruin people’s parties and how to keep your professionalism. We are not your friends, we’re just customers. I am lucky to be living here and working in hospitality, I will make sure your customers are aware of how your service looks. This was a very special night for me, and this restaurant ruined it.

Absolutely amazing food, you can tell that passion and pride goes into the food, the ingredients tasted fresh and of good quality, for starters we had a share platter, antipasto which was, "a selection of dry cured Italian meats served with buffalo mozzarella in a traditional way" and for mains we had Crab ravioli, which was " ravioli stuffed with crab meat in a seafood sauce with fresh mussels, and cold water prawns, white wine and fresh chillies" the other main was " Medaglione Al Tartufo, Fill it of beef medallions wrapped in Parma ham with creamy truffle sauce topped with rocket and parmasam shavings cooled pink and served with saute potatoe's" both meals were absolutely gorgeous and the truffle sauce was devine. To finish it off we shared a classic strawberry cheesecake. The venue was pleasantly well decorated, I think the only thing I would say that's bad was that the air conditioning wasn't working. So was rather warm during our stay. The service was excellent and very professional and polite.

This is possibly the worst business in the whole on Nottingham - or perhaps I've ever encountered...

It was a QUIET Monday night when we booked for a party of 13 people. Half the party arrived early, and the annoying waiter kept provokingly asked to clean and empty half of the table because he stupidly assumed the rest of the party weren't coming. We ordered two sharing platters whilst waiting. When the rest arrived he rolled his eyes when asked for more menus. It went from bad to worse from here...

When enquiring about vouchers ready to be used, the waiter was suddenly possessed by an erratic duck: He was just defensively quacking over us: 'YoU CanNot uSE! LoOk AT tHe SmALl PrINt!! OnE pErrr TaBLe!!!' with no solid ground, it escalated with him involving his backup big shot manager who was incapable of allowing customers to finish their sentence - he was just speaking over everyone, he was fabricating terms and conditions on the spot (that weren't even stated in the small print), he attempted to explain about his 'business model' (like to say we were interested investors) and he even confidently claimed that HE DID US A FAVOUR BY TAKING OUR BOOKING IN THE FIRST PLACE! tumbleweed whilst being in a plethora of empty tables & seats. After wasting 20 mins with yappin' all that nonsense and making a commotion; he pathetically went away to brood on a toilet and he returned to say: Okay! we will allow those vouchers, this once! (thinking there's a halo appearing above his head top) and he boldly assumed we wanted to proceed to order. Obviously, we cut it short from there, paid and left - only a madman would accept this narcissistic treatment from a restaurant.

The' manager' needs to go ASAP! he ain't fit for hospitality, his incapable communication skills was a resemblance of a grossly irritating vintage broken record - the only thing he MANAGED to do was successfully make a joke out of the restaurant a round of applause

In the end, we wandered off to eat at the Giggling Squid in West Bridgford, which we happily spent around £400 (could've been yours shrugs shoulders) The contrasting comparison was incredible, they showed us what excellent customer service really looked like!

Judging from the only food we had, which was the platter: A frozen Costco/Iceland selection of rubbery seafood all 'fancified', it was groundbreakingly rubbish. Maybe the manager really did do us a favour by putting us off from continuing our evening there, a blessing in disguise!

The shocking lack of care in management makes me wonder if this is just money laundering cover-up, there is no way an authentic business can healthily run like this. Avoid this restaurant like the...

Extremely disappointed with the service tonight, made to feel terrible. I had made a reservation for my friend and I, it was confirmed via e-mail. Reservation was for 8pm. Arrived, and was told it would be a 5-10 minute wait, due to the rain they had overseated (?). The waiter offered NO apology. I explained my cousin and I were fasting and would like a table soon, considering we had literally booked one in advance. The waiter aggressively talked over me as I politely asked why they hadn't called em to let me know as they have my number from the booking, and given us an opportunity to go elsewhere considering we were both FASTING and hadn't eaten all day. He didn't listen to me at all, was extremely dismissive. Again, didn't apologise a sincere apology at any point. at 8:25pm, he offered us to wait inside until a table was ready. At 8:48pm, he offered us a menu while waiting for the table, the table that was originally supposed to only be a "5-10 minute wait", the table I had booked for 8pm. At 9pm, a full HOUR after my reservation, finally we were seated. It was ridiculously inconsiderate. Finally, when we did get our food, waitstaff had only come by once to check on us. The one time they did come, a girl at the table next to us asked for some sauce on the side and the waitress literally walked away from our table as we were talking, to go cater to this other girl. I am literally appalled at the service. Its extremely upsetting to be dismissed and belittled by the waitstaff, treated like garbage. Its hard not to feel like it wasn't at least somewhat implicitly rooted in racism as we were the only obviously racialised individualised in the restaurant, and all other tables had waitstaff come by MULTIPLE times to check on them through the night. The food quality was good, but the service left a disgusting taste...
