Fed meat to a vegetarian - AVOID

Unfortunately we ate here as a group of 4 this evening, and they managed to mess up 3 separate dishes we ordered. The level of customer service received was beyond abysmal.

The first wrong dish was them sending bacon covered pancakes despite us ordering the vegetarian dish (after a 20+ minute wait by the way - place was not even half full). First time the staff were quite apologetic and after a further 10 minute wait the vegetarian had the correct dish.

The dish that I opted for was the ā€˜sloppy joe fries’ and paid extra for the privilege, and received some very pale undercooked fries without any topping. We asked for them to be corrected which seemed to greatly offend the waitress. There was no apology for the mistake and when it was corrected we said ā€˜Thank you’ to which the waitress did not even acknowledge or respond.

After ordering desserts (wish we had known better) and a further 20 minute wait, I received the waffle and cookie dough sundae, sans waffles and with the worst ice cream I’ve had in years. Picture the tub of cheap vanilla you have had in the freezer for 2 years with the lid off, frozen through and covered in icicles and that is the ice cream we received.

The fact that we had been treated with such disdain after raising 2 other mistakes they had made, meant that we didn’t feel comfortable raising a further issue. New menu or not the whole experience was shameful and in future it’s better to not make the customer feel guilty raising genuine concerns. A simple ā€˜so sorry about that; let me fix this’ would have saved the need for me to write this review.

Avoid until they can fix these issues. Shame because I have been visiting this pub on and off for over 10 years. Will...

Called in with my friend after going to the cinema and had a nice burger meal that was tasty and well prepared. The place has a nice ambience and is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bar staff including manager were very friendly and efficient and it was a pleasant end to a night at the cinema. All that said however was a quiet Thursday post Christmas evening with not many customers. I dare say a Friday and Saturday evening landscape could be a more challenging prospect for the staff being a stone throw away from Rock City and the Theatre Royal. and other live entertainment venues. Again that said, it follows that the commitment and maintainance of high standards and consistency starts at the top and flows downhill and should be evident in all seas both calm and tempest. As for the tempest I am yet to judge but am confident that I would not be disappointed. My only issue preventing five stars was as with many listed buildings is that the conveniences are situated up two flights of stairs which makes it uncomfortable for those with mobility issues. If there was a disabled rest room it must have escaped my notice. To conclude I would highly recommend a visit to this place as it ranks well among it's surounding...

Bottomless brunch pre booked for hen party since November can’t fault our mills the waitress she has been amazing and the cocktails are nice but waiting 1.5 hours for food is a joke for them to then say we have ran out of eggs ! Not to mention to start they didn’t have advocados or waffles basically most of the menu was unavailable, the bloke was highly rude I found customers who ordered after us recieved there food before us and our food all arrived separately 4 out of 10 where sat waiting for an extra 15 minutes before our food arrived not to mention one of the four actually sent hers back and her reorder arrived before the remaining three a bloody joke ! Chips freezing cold also and a note to staff don’t lean over a customer to collect empty glasses whilst a customer is eating it is rude and unacceptable table manners ! I must admit he did provide shots as a Ā£66 refund is not great considering it cost basically Ā£340 for us to be sat...

The pub has a really nice aesthetic, especially in the green room. The beer was reasonably priced at £3 for a pint of Brewdog Punk! However, I spent over £5 for a portion of tater tots off the menu. The ones that comes with bbq jackfruit and vegan cheese. What arrived was about 10 tater tots, a teaspoon of bbq jackfruit, and the worst vegan cheese. The meal was horrifically small in comparison to the other meals available on the menu. I was very disappointed, this shouldn't be on the mains menu. would not recommend for food if you're after a meal. The photo was taken before I had any to eat!

Booked here for Bottomless Brunch. Picked it because the price (Ā£29) was good, they had sport on and because it was good value at 2hrs rather than the more common 90 minutes, that many other establishments offer. What I didn’t expect was the level of service we received. The staff were fantastic and attentive. We never had to wait for our drinks and the food came out quickly. The staff were friendly and quick to have a laugh with us. The selection of food and drinks was good and we left thoroughly happy and with plans to return. Thank you to the staff who worked Saturday 18th Nov’ 2023 šŸ‘šŸ¼

One of Nottingham's most underrated places. The vegan options at The Horn in Hand are fantastic and the portions are more than enough with super reasonable and affordable prices. Seems like that have some great deals on through the week too- we went on a Thursday where cask, craft, and cocktails were £3.50 (with craft including Beaverton beers which are typically easily £6)! Definitely one to go back to.
