Meal Review: After looking for a place to have a nice date night and neither of us had had lobster before, we decided to try lobster and the first location that came up was the lobster pot.

Ambiance was quite Christmassy which is a nice touch given the season and the usual chit chat on every table as expected.

We were greeted by Corwin and he asked if we had made a reservation which my fiancée confirmed affirmatively and we ushered to a table in no time. Corwin then took our order and we had drinks served in minutes. Corwin’s service was top class excellent and we were very happy he attended to us.

Right! Onto the meals we went! Both garlic bread and prawn spring rolls were served together and they were lovely, garlic bread had a nice garlic and herbs spread on top and a nice crunch on the bottom.

Prawn spring rolls was hot and delightful but the presentation was a bit lacking.

I must say, the Lobster was firm to cut and bite at first but we liked it. It could do with a little bit more grilling and seasoning per fiancée’s opinion and I slightly agree. The butter wasn’t soggy to overwhelm the dish but plenty enough to enjoy the lobster.

The egg fried rice on the other hand demands a bit of attention because it wasn’t really appetising to complement the lobster which is a let down.

Very disappointing dining experience for my husband’s birthday. We were excited to try this place given that we both love seafood and supporting family-owned businesses, but the service here was truly horrendous. The owner completely disregarded us and only paid attention to other guests that he seemingly knew prior. I understand that we were not the regular guests there, but it’s not the way to treat new customers. When we first came in, the waiter said we can choose any table since they barely had any people inside, so we sat in the corner table as it seemed cozy and intimate for a birthday dinner, but much later we were asked to move to another table by the owner for other guests he was familiar with. There were plenty of other available tables so it did not feel right that we were the only ones who were asked to move. We asked the owner to keep the table since we were celebrating the birthday, but our request was ignored. The food was quite average. If you like seasoned and flavorful seafood, this place might not be for you. In the end, it was almost impossible to get the waiter’s attention and ask for the bill as they were seemingly ignoring us. Nice little place in Nottingham with a homely feel 🐠 . Quite central to Nottingham therefore ample parking in surround areas or in the surrounding streets. We got a very warm welcome. The table was cleaned and set up for us, giving us the option as to where we’d like to sit. Our waiter was phenomenal. Absolutely brilliant. Polite, Kind, informative A and superb at his job. Absolutely faultless. Voted best restaurant in 2020. 💯 % worth a visit especially if you like proper sea food. I played it safe and had salmon with egg fried rice 🍣 🍚 We got a very generous portion of rice each. The waiter also advised that the portion is a good amount incase we wanted to share. The Salmon was cooked to perfection. Really nice swimming in white wine and onion sauce. The drinks Menu was good, a little limited but good.
