Unauthentically delicious! The menu has a wide variety of dishes and I ordered a pad thai and nasi goreng but the food that arrived was anything but such. The nasi goreng ended up being a fried rice instead, but I was pleasantly surprised by the execution of the dishes. The sweetness and flavours of the pad thai made the dish seem more suited for a western palette, yet the spice of the “nasi goreng” satisfied my Asian tastebuds. The char siu/roasted pork seemed homemade, was so soft and tasted like home. The dishes used the perfect amount of oil which made it easy on the stomach and showed skill from the kitchen. This place has really gone downhill since it was Wokfusion. Tonight me and my partner ordered takeaway salt & pepper chips, tofu satay noodles and chicken pad thai, and all of it was bland, poorly cooked and thoroughly disappointing. The salt and pepper chips were basically still frozen with an unusual flavour, the tofu was dripping wet and the satay noodles barely seasoned. Service was very friendly and the food was gorgeous! This was my first visit to Asian Box so I picked a safe meal of mixed vegetable stir-fry with cashew nuts and boiled rice, and it was delicious. The veg was chopped into good-sized chunks, it was cooked perfectly to retain a little bit of crunch, and the sauce wasn't overly salty (as I have found a lot of other takeaways to be).
