Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Plymouth

A number of times I have visited this store and about 30% of the time the coffee is bad. Only luke-warm, half the cup is foam etc. This problem took a week to sort out with Costa customer services but I won't be visiting this particular store again. Other stores in the city seem to be fine but I have had bad experiences with this one. Staff are polite but sometimes seem a bit lost. I have come back on occasions to this store and I am happy to say it has improved drastically. The coffee is always hot and full of flavour, wait times aren't too long either. However, the staff at this particular store are amazingly friendly and helpful. I was previously served by a gentlemen, I believe named Steve, who was very polite. Today I was served by a young lady named Saffron who was smiling at every customer, extremely polite, and more than happy to help me with my Costa app to get a good deal! She was more than happy to explain to me what to do, but was also happy to do it herself for me, which I found most helpful.

The cake however was quite disappointing. It tasted slightly stale and I believe was yesterday's leftovers. If I didn't get the cake for the £1 deal, I would have returned it.

Today I was greeted at this Costa by a very rude staff member (who was leaving the store), who simply said "Really" in an unpleasant tone, before shoeing me out of the cafe. For context, I was holding my puppy, with the idea of going in to order (as I can't leave a 12 week old dog outside) and then eating outside. I understand there is a no dog policy, but I would appreciate it if staff were polite in explaining this. I did not 'decide' not to order here, I was unable to. I will not be ordering from here while there if such a rude person working here. I had a very good experience today picking up my food parcel from Costa. The staff was friendly, helpful, polite, and very respectful. She was a good example of what customer service should be. I was very pleased. Moreover, the contents of the parcel were worth the effort and value for money. Good quality food. Again, it was almost the end of the day's business, so it was slightly quiet. Generally clean, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I will strongly recommend Costa food parcels. Well done to all the staff at Costa Exeter Street for today's service. Sun 15...
