Me and my partner visited the Slug & Lettuce this morning to have an early lunch prior to going Christmas Shopping in the City. I would love to write about how great the food and drink was, however, unfortunately we left the premises before even having so much as a drink...

When we walked in we were greeted by a female with a black shirt and dark hair. I didn't get her name, however she was pleasant enough to start with. We explained we hadn't booked and she said that was fine and that we could grab a table as long as it wasn't reserved.

Once we found a suitable table we proceeded to sit down at which point the same woman (who I presume was the manager) shouted loudly at us across the restraunt saying, and I quote: "NO! NOT THAT ONE, THAT'S RESERVED!! THAT'S WHY IT HAS THE MENUS LAID OUT!" . Had there of actually been clear reserved signs on the table then we would not of attempted to sit here, however this was not the case.

I overlooked her extreme rudeness and put it down to the fact that she must have been having a bad day, which we all have occasionally, especially in the hospitality industry.

We moved tables and sat down to view the menu which is when we encountered our next problem. My partner went to the bar to order our drinks and joined a large queue of people waiting to be served. The poor young lad behind the bar was entirely by himself whilst trying to take food orders, pour pints and make cocktails, all while the obnoxious manager left him to his sinking ship whilst she wandered around the restaurant texting and moaning about trying to find some Christmas Decorations.

As someone who has worked in Food & Beverage for a number of years and who has run multiple businesses, I have to say that in my book, the service we received was sub-standard and unacceptable. If ANY member of my staff spoke to one of our customers the way we were spoken to today, they would be sacked on the spot, regardless of their seniority.

In summary, this establishment has the potential to be a very classy and modern business in a great area. However, your staff are seriously letting you down in the way they treat your customers. If people are leaving before even having the chance to try your produce, then you have a...

my friends came here on a very quiet tuesday evening, no rushes or busy moments, so i’m not sure why we received the service we did. our cocktail orders were correct but that’s the only thing that was okay, the problem was with food.

our food orders were very incorrect in places, including the wrong vegan burger being brought, with things missing, or replaced, without us being asked or informed beforehand.

the vegan burger was vegan beef instead of breaded chicken, missing rocket, bbq sauce and mayo. the rocket was replaced with spinach without our consultation, but after having to complain about one thing already we didn’t want to cause more hassle.

we did complain about the nachos as they were missing nacho cheese sauce as included on the menu, had the most bare minimum amount of grated cheese and sauces. to their credit, we complained and received a remade portion, this time it was made more correctly, but they claimed there was no nacho cheese with the nachos as stated on the menu. so it was still without. the second portion was still lacking quality but we do appreciate it being re made.

what we did NOT appreciate was our friend being unfairly cut off at the bar and given water after he complained on our behalf. they claimed he was too drunk, because he was speaking loudly. when he tried to explain that he had hearing problems he was talked over and again told he was too drunk. this is after one cocktail.

this isn’t probably the fault of the staff as they seemed nice, nothing against the people working there, probably just a management or training thing, plus lack of resources and communication, and lack of...

A very unsatisfactory trip to slug and lettuce to celebrate our friend’s engagement.

Ordered 2 different cocktails on the 2 for 1 offer (4 total). The two pina coladas tasted gone off (sour, nutty aftertaste and just not how a PC should taste), so I returned to the bar to ask for them to be remade, or replaced with a different drink. I had barely sipped 1 of the two.

The person who assisted me was very nice, and took the untouched drink to her manager to try. He pulled a face after sipping it and said something to her. She came back and said her manager had said it was fine.

I politely disagreed and asked if there was anything they’d be willing to do, such as get a fresh one made up. She went and asked but said the manager denied there was anything wrong and said they’d do nothing more to help me in the matter.

I requested a copy of my receipt, asked for the managers name and then asked them to dispose of the two full drinks, and provide me with a glass of water instead. I was directed to the self serve water station - it was the best drink I had there that night.

The food was great and didn’t take too long considering how busy the restaurant area was. I imagine if there was any issues with it the kitchen would have swapped it right away. Just don’t rely on the bar manager to do the same with drinks.

One mistake I made was not waiting for the bartender who made my cocktails to return. She was very cool, and I imagine would’ve agreed, dumped the drinks and made fresh ones on the spot without a second thought.

I’ve forwarded this review to Stonegate through their...

Second time coming here for a bottomless brunch, we were served by 3 different members of staff who were all lovely but the first one told us the price had changed from when I had booked so it would be more expensive, my friend is vegan and when we had looked online she was able to have the vegan burger but when we arrived it was on the later menu so she wasn't able to have it. Other than that slight disappointment we had a great time, we loved the choice of drinks and the atmosphere. It would be something I'll do again in the future as it's great value for money.

Overall a good experience for bottomless brunch. Took our first drink and food order pretty quickly. However only 3 drinks in and we was left around a drink for about 10-15 mins which was disappointing, we did understand there was two big tables paying at once so this was like a a standstill for us. The girls did apologise and then suddenly we had drinks again! The server got us a round then just ordered us another round 🤣🤣 I understand Saturday nights and busy, but the food was lush! And of course the drinks 🍸 i would definitely do bottomless brunch here again

We had a buffet style meal here for our work Christmas get together. The service was prompt considering it was a busy night (last Friday before Christmas) so I was pleasantly surprised by the speed and also the quality of the food was very good. The cocktail deals were very good and the staff helpful when using the app. Overall I'd say if you're looking for an inexpensive casual night this isn't the right venue for you, but if you're celebrating and would rather pay a little more for good quality then go ahead and book.
