We visited on Saturday and, the first thing I noticed was the age of the staff. For a venue based around the retro aspect of gaming, it was sad to see that, for the staff, the games of their youth was probably the Playstation 3. I'd have loved to see people who grew up playing these games like me, people with a passion for PacMan, Battlezone and other 80s greats. I can't say how much it irked me being served by people who don't know the difference between Bionic Commando and Black Tiger. Also, the very first thing they did after checking my preorder tickets was to try and sell me snacks.. Once in, It was good to see a nice mix of dexterity and action games and the layout seemed pretty good. I would say that you need signs to say what's up each of the 2 staircases as we were worried about trespassing at first! I feel the fact the site is new is why it all felt a little sanitary. The machines really need to be surrounded by cool posters, standees and neon signs as, currently, it's horribly bland. Upstairs also, by the consoles, there needs to be better seating for players as we had to stand to play as, being the target audience of over 40s, we can't stand or sit on the floor for very long. The last area was our favourite as the big-screen Street Fighter and Pac-Man were definitely impressive, but still there needs to be more decoration and atmosphere all around. So, my review sounds negative, but don't be disheartened. We only stayed for about 45 minutes as had places to be, but those were a fun 45 minutes and we will be back as you've definitely got the beginnings of an excellent setup but it really needs (a) atmosphere, with posters, signs (also for the staircases), neon and music (b) more comfortable seating for consoles (c) Atleast a few staff of a similar age to your clientele who will be enthused by the historic games and maybe just floats around playing with the customers and (d) stick in a claw machine and definitely a capsule dispenser for tiny retro toys and keyrings as they'd sell really well. I will definitely be recommending this to my retro gaming fans, as the only way is up and, as you grow into the site and it becomes more preloved looking, I'm sure it'll become something...

Read moreReally good fun, a great variety of machines (retro, race sim, shooters etc) and active games (basketball, pool, dance machines, guitar hero, beer pong with air jets, air hockey, etc). Toilets and water fountains, antibacterial wipes easily available. Love that it's pay at the front and then machines are free so there's no need to faf with tokens.
Things to consider before going, parking isn't amazing in town (unless you're on a motorbike like me, then it's free across the road) it's also noisy, incredibly warm and can be a bit "overstimulating" for some.
Some games were a bit broken too; left pinball upstairs was dead, right mario car downstairs the item button is dead, guitar hero lags on expert and some frets and strum bar was a bit hit or miss, downstairs motorbike sim was dead, upstairs 2 player dance machine was dead, test your strength seemed to have a capped upper limit and some of the gun games could have been better calibrated.
Overall I'd still highly recommend this place, great pricing and great fun!
One nit-pick, a few times there were games I wanted to play but couldn't as the staff were playing them đŹ which is fine, I'm all for them being able to play during work....but I'm quiet so I'm never going to ask...
