Highly recommend this boutique!

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed, talked through the process and offered different drinks while we picked out dresses to try (which we then enjoyed whilst I tried dresses on).

I felt completely comfortable and supported throughout the process. I was given the opportunity to wear a robe when changing if I wanted, saw the dresses in different lighting and positions, and was able to re-try my top picks towards the end which made comparing them and how I felt in each much easier.

With any concerns about the fit, Emily checked what the seamstress would realistically be able to help with and provided a rough estimate of cost for those changes in real time. Incredibly helpful!

I can’t stress enough how lovely and pressure-free this appointment was. I was given all the time I needed, as well as the opportunity to take photos of each dress from all angles. The appointment actually overran quite significantly but we were treated so kindly and with such warmth throughout that we had no idea until we’d left. Conversation was honest, kind and easy.

I was given honest feedback wherever needed and guidance on important things to consider with each dress, where appropriate. This is definitely a very genuine boutique, Emily really does have the bride’s best interests and wants at her core.

There were a range of dresses to try at surprisingly affordable prices and there was no pressure at all to leave with a dress there and then. They really understand how big of a decision this is for each bride to make and I can really see how they’d support you throughout.

I went today as a bridesmaid for my best friend for her first ever dress fitting. We pre booked a 2hr appointment.

We were welcomed so lovingly into the store, we were all offered a glass of bubbles (or tea, coffee, water or orange juice for those not drinking), were introduced to all staff, we were given free reign to peruse all the available dresses, we were treated with such respect and kindness, it was like stepping into a friends house.

The bride walked in there with little confidence in her body, wanting a dress to cover her lumps and bumps, she had a specific style in mind that would cover the bits that she felt needed covering and was a safe option for her. And she walked out the most confident version of herself I’ve ever seen, and she was so excited to continue her wedding plans.

(I forgot her name, I’m so sorry) but the lady who was leading the session was extremely knowledgeable, she allowed the bride to chose what she visually liked but she also offered suggestions based off the wedding theme and the brides body shape/composition/size, and she was BANG on the money with her choices, if you have an appointment with this lady PLEASE trust her opinion, she knows exactly what she’s doing.

I had a wonderful experience at The Ivory Lounge and can recommend them to any brides-to-be in the Devon area. The shop had a small luxury boutiquey feel and the selection of dresses were elegant and classy. But what impressed me most were the little details in the shop, particualrly the dressing room. I have been to a lot of dress shops trying to find my dress, and the detail The Ivory Lounge went to in their fitting room was by far the best. For example, in between trying the dresses on you were given a beautiful silky robe to wear... in every other shop I had ended up prancing around in my underwear! There were also mirrors on all sides allowing you to see the dress from all angles, again, something I didn't come across in other shops. In many of the other shops, the changing room was tiny and you get so warm trying dresses on. This changing room had tonnes of room and the furnishings were just beautiful - it felt like a cut above the rest. I also have to mention Rachael, who was extremely helpful and squeezed me in to an appointment very last minute. She knew exactly when to step in and offer advice and when to step back and let me soak it all up and nothing was too much trouble. My only wish is that i had gone to this shop earlier!
