Came for a second chance after a disappointing attempt on the last visit.

Same issues occurred. Order had forgotten or just hadn’t been put through in full properly so partners food arrived without mine.

Was offered free deserts as compensation, which is sort of okay, as I had mentioned this is the second time it had occurred if I’m honest a partial refund at the very least is expected. Went to order the deserts to find out that they are no longer available.

I asked why they are being advertised then to which the server said they don’t know and the manager blamed waiting on marketing to change the menus and they are undergoing a change in management...

Partner went to order different items on the desert menu to be told they weren’t there either.

Eventually even my partner gave up saying it’s fine to keep the free food. The Manager to her defence tried to rectify and explain the situation but by this point, considering the last experience was also pretty poor, we said we won’t be coming back as customers. They said okay sorry to hear that and left us alone.

If I’m honest when the service has gone this poorly. I’d expect it to be refunded in full, it’s the only thing that makes me think the company is owning up to their mistakes and if they make future mistakes they will come clean and theirs an emphasis on self improvement for their customers.

Pub was pretty dead which is testament of the quality of food and service. In contrast the three crowns across the street was packed with fantastic looking food being served. I should of...

The food here is great quality, came reasonably quickly for how busy it was too, that would not be the reason for the 2 stars. The service was also pretty good, and good atmosphere outside. However, if you want to be able to go to the toilet comfortably... avoid here.

The place was absolutely packed as we were there on a Friday night, however there are only two women's toilets, with room for one person to stand by the sink (it's tiny). One didn't have a toilet seat so you had to squat to avoid injury, the other one you could sit on the toilet but risked being walked in on because it didn't lock. Or in my friend's case, be hit in the head by the very heavy door as someone pushed it open as she was using it. When bringing this to the attention of the staff, there was no health and safety protocol or first aider. They even said they were aware and would fix it in the morning, in my opinion it should have been done there and then due to the injury my friend received (she had a huge bump on the head). For somewhere that looked so nice you would expect it to have basic facilities that work.

A lot of the staff were also walking around with masks underneath their noses, so I didn't feel very comfortable that the Covid rules were being adhered to.

So if you want to have great food, and have an iron bladder you will be fine. However we will never be returning, the incident completely ruined...

Come here today for some food and sat at a table outside. After looking at the menu which seems to have got smaller in choice, I went inside to place my order. On looking around it looked as if I was the first person to order food at 12:05 as there wasn’t anyone around. We waited for over half hour before I went to the bar to find out where my food order was and whilst I was there the girl who served me had a call from, I assume, the kitchen advising that my food was waiting to be served. I went back to my table and waited for her. When she brought the food out and left I could tell that the food wasn’t hot. The chips were cold and upon touching the burger it confirmed that it was also cold! For what we paid for our meal and drinks definitely wasn’t worth the £50 paid!

I went back to the bar with the plates of food and asked for a refund as at this point I didn’t want to wait any longer for fresh food. I had to wait for a manager to issue my refund and had the excuse that there was miscommunication in the kitchen!

I definitely won’t be coming back as we had the same issue last summer but wanted to give the place another try as it used to be a nice place to eat but now seems overpriced for the little amount of...

I don't come to the ship very often as I struggle with busy places and often experience frustration from the busyness- I did a review previously, but I now think it's fair to visit a place more than once to get a true representation of it. I visited today ( 17.8.24) with my husband and was served by Alana at 12:14 - She was very polite and professional. She greeted me with a natural smile, which automatically put me at ease, She didn't rush me, or made me feel that she was in a rush. She was extremely polite to every customer I saw her interact with, she had a great aura and that's awesome especially in a busy restaurant setting. I think Alana is a credit to The Ship as she encompasses everything you'd expect to see in a waitress/ barmaid. I'd like to also say that I do not know Alana, I've never met her before and this is a true review of my own experience within the ship.

This bar and restaurant is located in a great location on the historic Barbican over looking the harbour. The menu and beers offered from this St Austell Brewery owned Bar is excellent and you can enjoy dining drinking or both in the friendly atmosphere from the very helpful and friendly staff. Recently they have made the outside seating area even more attractive with all large bins enclosed that doesn't now spoil the wonderful views and many plant boxes arranged along the seated canopy areas. I've lived on the Barbican for over 30 years and the Ship bar and restaurant is one of the best places to visit for any occasion with friends or family within a great location...

Location : near the port with boats and famous "Smeaton's Tower". My review it is dedicated to delicious dessert served me as a #vegan "warm fruit flapjack with nuts and raspberry #vegetarian ice cream 🍨 With first bite I had feeling that my taste buds experience one of the best moments . Warm fruits just melt in my mouth and when I close my eyes I felt that I am in different place . The atmosphere it is very friendly . The interior design is focused primarily on the style that accentuates the walls of the building and emphasizes that there is a high-standard restaurant. Music 🎶 great taste ! The restaurant it is also dog friendly 🙂 Highly recommend!
