In my opinion it's the best coffee shop in Reading. The shop is based next to the church providing a more peaceful quiet experience away from the high street. The milk coffees are excellently brewed with smooth well balanced tasting notes and excellent mouth feel from the frothed milk. I also recommend the V60 for black coffee drinkers because the brewing method allows you to experience more of the coffee beans themself providing you a journey of flavours from their origin. The interior is well lit and spacious with a modern minimalist design with background music at just the right volume to allow you to converse at normal levels. Overall, an excellent spot to take a break. They also stock coffee beans and equipment, the beans are freshly roasted so are in their prime ready to be brewed, and the equipment is mainly oriented towards filter...

It's easy to see why C.U.P has come top in nationwide coffee houses when you have a coffee from here. From the outset the small and hidden location gives it a relaxed feel; the inside will hold 28 at full seating capacity, whilst leaving enough room so you are not cramped, and more seating outside with a quiet view of the church. The flat white is intensely full of flavour with absolutely no harsh bitterness, exactly what you want. The sandwiches look great and the quick ready-made offerings look better than you would find at a major chain coffee house. I had a quick sausage roll and unfortunately it was not good, microwaved to warm and the pastry became chewy and soft - I regret my choice on that front, however I didn't come here for the food. 1 star taken off for the food, had I not ordered it, 5 stars...

Very friendly atmosphere. Me and my friends have been looking for a good cafe for a while now in reading with a nice seating area and we’ve finally found it. Always packed and active, great coffee with various different choices of coffee beans.

Personally the most important aspect in any restaurant/cafe is service, this cafe has the best baristas in town that consistently produce high quality drinks. Not only are they consistent, but I always have a great chat with them whilst ordering my drink, even on a busy Saturday they always make time to greet and checkup on you.

Once you start becoming a regular, the baristas will memorize your order which I found pretty cool and made me feel this sense of care from them.
