I was in a party of 5 people and we are all lovers of Indian food, 2 are British from Indian families, but still foodies. Two had visited multiple times. This was my first visit.

Overall the menu was not overly extensive with hundreds of options, it was boardering on sparse, but with key dishes for the major categories. We shared the Poppadoms and dips, which was good. We ordered an Indian beer to accompany the meal. We each ordered a different main, then some side dishes to share.

The first thing that strut me was the large portion sizes, the prices weren't cheap but that was a bonus. We were able to share the mains and the side dishes, which made the experience among friends very pleasant. Overall the meals were on the peppery šŸŒ¶ļø side, we did not order butter chicken. I did not know that Chilli Naans existed!!!

The waiting staff were available but did not hover. The meals were available in good time, and the bill was also presented promptly when requested. We shared the bill and bid the staff a good night. Overall a very pleasant experience and I will...

The food was very nice,no complaints at all.But the 2 star is because of the service.I had a reservation at 7.30 on my husband's birthday. We got a rude call at 7.20 pm from the hotel asking if we are coming or should they cancel our reservation as they have people waiting. We were just round the corner. When we reached the not so pleasant gentlemen who was serving at the bar seated us at a table that was exactly 5 feet away from the door and near the toilet entrance. WE LITERALLY DIDN'T EVEN SEE THE INSIDE OF THE HOTEL. It was like we came ,ate near the door (toilet) and left. Felt total cast away.We had mentioned we have a 6 month old baby yet got the pleasure of eating by the door, everytime someone opened the door my baby was exposed to the cold air no matter what we did to prevent it.We weren't greeted, neither when we came nor when we left.Seems the staff was only interested in pleasing the locals. It doesn't matter if your food tastes divine,if you treat people this way you don't have my respect. Never stepping foot...

Royal Tandoori is wonderful restaurant to eat with your friends and family. It is Indian cuisine restaurant and have various vegetarian and non vegetarian delicacies.it is situated in the town centre of Reading. Hardly 5 mins walking distance from Reading railway station. They serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well. Apart from Indians, many English and European people enjoy food here. Weekend evening is the busiest. ideally booking the table in advance is recommended on weekends. Before pandemic lockdown they have more items in the menu. However, after the re-opening,they have decreased some food items from the menus and increased some cost. But food is delicious especially Kadai paneer and bhindi (Okra) masala. Royal Tandoori also have another restaurant named as Bhelpuri house which is also situated near to royal tandoori. Currently it is closed and they are serving Bhelpuri house food here in royal tandoori. Bhelpuri house menu have mouthwatering Indian snacks which everyone loves it. I highly recommend to...

We went for lunch and it was a disaster. We ordered a Royal tandoori platter . There were tandoori prawns, chicken tikka and lamb along with sheekh kabab. Tandoori Prawns were good. But all the other items were terrible. The chicken tikka was very dry. And the sheekh Kabab and lamb tikka were the worst. Lamb tikka wasn't even properly cooked. We couldn't cut it with a fork and knife. Not only that, the taste of it was awful as if we were chewing it like chewing gum made with raw meat. The same goes with the sheekh kabab also. For the main course we ordered aloo paratha and chicken butter masala. We were surprised to see that they don't have any idea about the differences between chapati and paratha. There was no butter/ghee/ oil on Aloo paratha. Chicken Butter masala with ready-made gravy was very sweet and average. After a successful devastation of our grand day, we decided not to visit here again😔.

This is our absolute go to for an Indian Restaurant in Reading, can’t beat it. Great price, good service, and fabulous food. We find that we rarely need a starter as the main dishes surely finish off our appetite. Our staple order is the Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Lamb with Butter Naan, Raita, and plain rice, split between two makes a hearty delicious meal. The spice levels on the menu can be a little misleading, we found the butter chicken spicier than the masala for instance, and the Saag Lamb also had a bit of a kick, so if you don’t have a very good spice tolerance I would stick with Korma or Tikka. The restaurant makes it very easy to share dishes, and usually has a table open for us when we come in. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the restaurant itself is top notch, being cleaned swiftly and to a good standard between diners.

What an awful experience. Read reviews and seen that they had a vegan menu so we decided to give this place a go. We got our drinks, poppadoms didn't arrive, had to ask another 2 times before finally getting the poppadoms and chuckney tray. These finally came with our main meal at the same time!!! Madness. I had chicken tikka masala, and it was rubbish. It was just some chicken chunks in some thick paste sauce. This also caused havoc in my stomach all night long, and kept me awake. One of those indian restaurants that put laxatives in the food. Will never return here
