Caffè Nero — Restaurant in Ribble Valley

Today I went to the Clitheroe Nero to get coffee and have to say that it wasn't a pleasant experience. The 2 membera of staff seemed like they really didn't want to be there. A gentleman who came to pay for his coffee had asked if they were ok and that he hadn't seen one of the girls in a while and asked if she had been away. She reluctantly replied no and that she was off a few days to get away from this place! The gentleman then said it must hard making coffees all day and asked how many do they serve each week. He was an elderly gentleman and was trying to make polite conversation. The young girl didn't acknowledge him and the other said that they served over 2000 last week. He left the counter after paying so I asked the young girl if she as ok? She replied with reluctant yep, I then said its ok to smile whilst smiling myself, she gave a look and a patranising smirk. I then said are you sure your ok, do you not like working here? Again I was pleasant but she replied back with " I don't have to give YOU an explanation if I want to smile or not " this was said very abruptly. I then said, but its good customer service, as I was shocked with her reply. I had spent £30 in the cafe and not happy with the customer service. If the girl was unhappy for any reason it shouldn't reflect on the customer. Not at all a good...

Called in for a Coffee, showed my Veterans Identity card and inquired if they give discount, the straight answer was it's not our company policy to give discount, then I asked about Forces discount card and that with this if the cafe / Shop etc gives discount as its the same as Student discount, I was told they only give small discount for Students, but not with the Forces discount card. End effect was it's not their company policy to give Veterans with Identity card and discount, even though the items and Coffees are astronomical prices, will be informing all my Veteran brothers and sisters Not to be frequenting and of these Nero Cafes Nation Wide, just not worth the...

So I use this cafe every single day and the staff are always lovely even though they are under pressure majority of the time. However today I went in to order my usual drink and there was a barista I did not recognise and a trainer who I had seen a few times. I ordered my drink and was distracted by my phone as we have had a bereavement in the family and she asked me if I was paying on the app. I didn’t hear her properly and she had to repeat. She then turned round to her colleague and said ‘I think that woman is deaf’ and the trainee started laughing. Really upset by this.
