Came on December 17th for a friend's birthday party and can honestly say I will not be returning. We were sat in the only section of the restaurant that was so dark that you couldn't read the menu and tucked away in a corner. Whilst the decor was nice and the manager did what he could to turn around the awful service we received it did not make up being stung with £25 worth of service charges that I don't think was appropriate for what we had. One of my biggest pet peeve is when a menu does not state the full contents of the meal that you will receive, this is exactly what happened when my chicken satay starter arrived with mayonnaise on the top of it when I dislike mayonnaise. Upon informing my waiter that I was allergic to mangoes, pineapple and oranges and trying to ensure that none of that reaches the plate, I was told that he was not the chef and couldn't guarantee it. I asked 3 different waiters if I could order a drink and was told each time they would come back as they had other food to serve. Upon dying from the thirst after waiting 1.5 hours just to order a drink my actual waiter returned and when I requested a mojito with no pineapple or orange or mango I was told he was not a bartender and I had to go to the bar myself. I then went to the bar and ordered my drink only for it to never arrive until my partner decided to return to the bar and ask where it was 2 hours later did I finally have my drink. The food was sub par and not something I will return for, the service was worst and the poor manager comped my drink and provided the birthday girl to try and make up for it but nothing would've made up for the fact that when the food we ordered was said to be not spicy by the waiter caused my friend much pain that he was handed coconut milk and left to it. The food portion is also ridiculously tiny when the prawn curry came with exactly 3 prawns and nothing else. No offer was made to change his food or mine, no offer of anything other then a drink for the birthday girl and my 1 drink comped. I will not now or ever understand why a simple apology was never offered or that staff in this day and age would not cater to ensure allergens do not enter foods of people with dietary...
Read moreWe chose here as a celebratory venue after my parents got married. Prior to the day, we asked if balloons could be taken the night before and a bottle of Moet iced on arrival for my mum and dad.
When we arrived it was 1pm and fairly busy. The table we were given (4 adults and one child) only had one arrangements of balloons (we had brought 2) and an ice bucket but no champagne. We sat down and waited...and waited for someone to come over...they didn't and so my partner enquiried about the other balloons (which were found in the back for some reason and the champagne). During this we asked if we could move to a more appropriate table as there were so many free towards the back of the restaurant which we were able to.
The next part of our experience was the worst. Our waiter came over, and without a hello, smile or greeting of any sort, he just said, 'you ready to order?' I asked if we could have a few more minutes and he just walked off. This continued and with all sincerity I have never experienced such a rude, abrupt service from one person. It was more disappointing based on the fact that my mum and dad had just got married and so we wanted it feel a bit special and he ruined the mood and tone. I'm not one to complain, but the waiter was that rude I went and asked to speak to a manager about it. He was lovely, very understanding and eventually we had a different waitress, she was lovely and even made the effort with my son.
Our bill came to over £400 and we did receive a congratulations complimentary dessert which my mum and dad appreciated. But if you're looking for somewhere special to celebrate I would probably suggest going elsewhere. The food was ok, not amazing but the service was poor and I only believe our second waitress was so nice because the manager had mentioned our...
Read moreFirst time visiting and was not disappointed. The site is easily accessible with wide doors and ramp. We were met by staff at the door and greeted with a smile. My booking included a wheelchair user. The restaurant is nicely decorated and bright and vibrant. There are lots of tables, but it does not seem crampt with plenty of space between. The whole space is clean and clearly well maintained to a high standard. When we were taken to the table, we were given the choice of tables to suit the height of the wheelchair. Upon receiving the menu, we were advised of a few items that were unavailable today. The staff member advised that certain items would be subbed into sharing dishes. We ordered a selection of tapas and drinks. Drinks were delivered quickly to the table. Our food was served quite quickly after. All food served was hot and clearly fresh. All tasted amazing, particularly the Mussels and the Squid. All of the dishes had a fresh garnish, which again tasted amazing. I particularly enjoyed the sweet, pickled cucumber and green pepper garnish. We ordered 3 tapas each, and this was enough for a filing lunch. When the table was cleared, we were offered dessert. We ordered a dessert each with a hot drink. These were served quickly and tasted great! I particularly enjoyed the Black sesame ice cream. However, the caramelised mango cake was very nice too!
Overall, very very impressed with lunch today. It was well worth the visit. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was quick but not overbearing. We did not at any point feel rushed. 10 out of 10 for everything!!!!! Will definitely return and would...
