I am a usual customer of the poke bowls since I grab them for lunch when I'm in the office. The food is great but it is very frustrating to see how they are becoming more and more stingy with the portion. First it was the protein which is understandable because it's the most expensive part of the bowl. But now even the vegetable portions are tiny as well. This is very unfair because today I paid £9 por a bowl that was half full. And not everybody is like this, there is a certain person that is very stingy with the portions and always tells the others to reduce the servings as well. Again, I regularly eat here so I can clearly notice this behaviour. It is very frustrating to pay £9 for half a poke bowl while seeing that the next person is getting a full poke just because they were lucky to avoid the...

Food was OK at best. I got the Chilli beef rice bowl and some sushi.

Rice in the rice bowl was mushy, cooked in way too much water, gave everything a bad texture. No idea why its called "chilli" because neither of those flavours were present in the dish, the sauce itself was ok but no kick too it at all, felt almost like a BBQ sauce. Beef was a nice texture and quite well cooked. Sushi was fine but again rice texture was off.

Staff were nice.

I probably wouldn't visit here again, although maybe the poke bowls which are their main focus are better.

EDIT: Based on restaurant response I have updated my review to contain the correct menu item. I simply misremembered the name. I appreciate the time they took to give feedback which reinforces my view the staff here are nice. I may try a poke...

This food was a revelation to me. Who knew such nutritious individual ingredients , all quite simple in their own way, could be masterfully transformed into a bowl of heart healthy, gut- fantastic deliciousness! I want to try everything but can’t tear myself away from my favourite Poke bowl of brown rice, tuna, broccoli, seaweed, shredded cucumber, edamame, kimchi, chillies, spring onions and Poke sauce. Simply beautiful every time. Add to that the staff are courteous and efficient , even when they are very busy and the premises are spotless. It might not be the cheapest takeaway lunch you buy but I guarantee that your arteries and gut microbiome will be rejoicing . Can’t recommend...

Fantastic spot to have a healthy, yet delicious lunch. Busy on weekdays, quite on weekends. Service was quick, with varied options to experiment by yourself, they checked for allergies. I had sushi and pokeball which was excellent. The only downside was they charged 50p for one squeeze for the sauce we chose(can definitely come up with a better business model for that!). Displeasing in this aspect as everything else from prices of mains to ambience were pitch perfect. Nevertheless, definitely one of the best Japanese cuisines in Glasgow. I would definitely go back there.

Poke bowl in akiko is my comfort food! For 8.5 pound you'll get the base, protein (add more +1.5), 5 fresh toppings (me love seaweed salad), two garnishes, and sauce. They also have vegan option (Zalmon and Tofu). Imo this is one of the cheapest poke bowl in town (8.5 in this econony?!?!) (Other places usually costs you >£12) 🥹🙏😭 My go-to menu: sushi rice base 🍚, double salmon 🍣, double seaweed salad 🥗, mushroom 🍄, edamame, carrot 🥕, nori, fried onion 🧅, and sweet chili sauce 🫶🫶
