This used to be one of our favourite sushi restaurants — the food is great, but the service has been terrible recently. The waitress was extremely blunt and rude. We had a table for six, but were asked to be seated separately because there weren’t enough available tables, which I was fine with. However, there was a spare table next to us that wasn’t being used by the other group. The waitress made no effort to ask them if we could use it to join the three tables together — she simply told us to sit separately. Thankfully, the gentleman at the other table was kind enough to offer the table so we could sit as a group. When it was time to order, there was no children’s menu available. We ordered a ramen for our kids to share and asked the waitress if the kitchen could separate it into two bowls. She bluntly replied, “I think you can do it yourself,” which I found very rude. I didn’t mind doing it myself, but she could have replied politely with something like, “Sorry, the kitchen wont be able to do that, but I can bring you some bowls so you can share.” It’s all about the attitude. To end the night, she mentioned there was an optional 10% service charge added to the bill. What service?! If you're a regular at Temaki, you'll know they used to serve the food in paper trays — it's a fast-paced, casual restaurant with minimal service. I feel like the service charge is just added for the sake of extra money. If the service had been better, I wouldn’t have minded paying it — but tonight was unacceptable. Very disappointed, Temaki. After reading some recent reviews, I can see others have mentioned similar experiences with this particular waitress. I really hope Temaki takes the time to review their staff and improve their...

I came to Glasgow, the city is a lot to take in and there are many places to go.
Temaki has proven to be affordable, the food is great, filling and the interior was aesthetically pleasing.
After discussing my complaints and how it could help customers, they have said they briefed the staff. I am happy with this resolution, and would recommend going, even just to grab takeaway and go. The food is worth it.
There are lots of food options available, and overall I would be happy to return here again.
Good businesses should always be rewarded for doing the right thing, acknowledging a mistake and making amends. This is not something I will overlook.
So thank you.
Original: Went to pick up foods, service took a long time, I know what kind of food it is, it's understandable, but it's such a cramp space.
Not the best for anxiety, forced to hang out in front of the door where you feel like you're in the way obstructing the entrance.
Not much in the way of communication, so even worse on my anxiety. I only came to order and take out food, but felt like I was given the cold shoulder throughout
I was regretting my decision to go to be honest.
Then on top of that asking for a tip, with service that wasn't fantastic. (Which I did not provide) I always give places a chance, but if I'm going to Glasgow again, I will find...

We went there around 17:45–17:55 yesterday. The place was absolutely empty except for two customers. We were looking for a place to sit — there were at least six empty tables — and we had just chosen one and were about to sit down when a staff member, who was taking the order from those two customers, saw us and almost shouted: “No, just wait there!
My husband and I looked at each other, thinking, “Well, that’s rude.” I checked the tables again, wondering if maybe they were reserved and that would explain her behaviour — but no, none of them were. There were plenty of free, non-reserved tables.
That moment killed all our excitement and appetite. The thing is, I had been to this place once before, loved their sushi, and made a point to return while we were visiting Glasgow again. I was really looking forward to it.
As we waited for the staff member to finish taking a very long order from those two customers — which he was doing slowly, chatting in between — we couldn’t help but think that instead of snapping at us, he could’ve simply let us sit at a table while we waited. But he chose not to. Luckily, we noticed a restaurant right across the street serving our country’s cuisine — and we immediately went there instead.
I hope that staff member ended up serving ghosts at all those empty tables...
