Not the most obvious choice for a wedding meal venue but the staff were awesome! No two years to plan a wedding here. It grew from 2 witnesses in a Registrars to a kilt wedding with 10 guests in under a fortnight. Everywhere was booked up for food but Badenoch's could make space for us and luckily all our bunch love street food so that's where we went. We hadn't been there before or knew what to expect. The staff had dedicated an area and let us go in beforehand to decorate and leave the cake etc. We were pleasantly surprised when the food came in cartons but it is billed as 'street food' so we could have guessed. It all added to the fun and uniqueness of the day. Izzy was fab. She could see we were enjoying ourselves and extended our reservation time so we didn't have to rush. She was super attentive and friendly and became a memorable part of the celebrations. Thanks again

First visit for myself for lunch with a group. Some items were unavailable which I know some were a little disappointed about. But, service was very good, our server was thorough, helpful and efficient. I chose the chicken satay small plate and the nachos small plate. Both were lovely, I'd have preferred a bit more sour cream and guacamole, but that's just my preference. I'd recommend it for groups. It appears to be dog-friendly too. We had one member in our group who is celiac so a gluten-free menu was provided, however, fries weren't an option for them as all are cooked in the same frier. I'd imagine this place to be quite busy at weekends. Booking table is recommended.

It was a Sunday evening and the first restaurant we tried required bookings. The bartender recommended Badenoch’s. It is much larger than it appears on the outside and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our waitress checked with the kitchen about food issues (3 of us do not eat pork). The drinks were tasty as my wife and daughters enjoyed the specialty drinks. We had a variety of plates-the Satay was juicy and tender, the fish and chips were flavourful, the sweet potato fries were really tasty. The only so-so dish was the onion rings, but the Venison burger was served hot and required no condiments. We would definitely come back while in Elgin!

It's with a heavy heart that I've had to change this review from my previous one two years ago however due to the change of management it had to happen.

On arrival we were greeted well, open and friendly before being sat down to our table quickly.

Given menu's and informed of the 3 for £20 on small plates was a pleasant surprise given the eye watering prices of other menu items however this surprise would soon be over shadowed.

The overall atmosphere of the new Badenoch is a pleasant one, while it's a sharp contrast to the Badenoch that we're used too.

While looking through the drink and food selection there were some points that you'd expect to see, soft drinks average across most hospitality in Elgin.

Saying this, this is where the average would end. From draught beers to cocktails the prices seemed heavily inflated personally however each to their own.

We ordered, I went for the 3 for £20 as I felt that it would be the best value for money. This decision was made on the back of the burger prices, £9.50 for just the burger plus an extra £3.50 for the chips. While I didn't order it I did however see the size of the burger, £13 for a burger and fries would be fine if it wasn't for the underwhelming size.

The three items I got (halloumi Fries, nachos, and garlic and cheese flatbread) I believe would of been nice if; 1 they'd arrived together and not two then the third 5 minute later, and 2 if the first two had been hot. When the first two items arrived they were lukewarm at best, the fries had gone chewy with the toppings not aiding with the coldness of the dish, and the nachos were chewy and very greasy. It give me the idea that maybe it was pre-cooked or forgotten about and then just popped in the microwave to reheat it. Luckily the flatbread was hot however and maybe it's a personal taste was overpowered with cheese with little to no garlic taste.

Now for my partners dinner I can't speak in depth about as I didn't have it however their stake (10oz) wasn't cooked to how they'd ask for it (medium) as there was still blood. There was what seemed like 2ozs of fat and gristle.

Overall the price to product ration was fair to squint, for the quality of food was fair to low for the price. Maybe if the food had been hot and arrived together, while also being cooked to the spec that was asked that the whole experience would of been 10x better.

Food: 4/10 Staff: 7/10 Atmosphere:...

It's incredibly unfortunate that I have to leave a review like this, but unfortunately due to the circumstances I can't even leave lovely photos of food or venue, as our stay was long but uneventful.

To begin with we entered the venue, were seated almost immediately having made a reservation and the staff were very pleasant.

However sadly that's where the positives end, shortly after arriving a group of rowdy individuals entered our seating area to which they were very loudly and oppressive toward the environment, though this isn't the fault of the staff we requested a move and the staff were fast and very accomodating, after a short while we ordered out drinks and food.

The drinks were served within 5 mins and we proceeded to wait for the food

For an hour and twenty minutes.

Food which never arrived.

Upon requesting information from the staff at the hour mark the polite and lovely staff member asked if we could hold on on while she chased the order, she returned asking for us to give it just ten more minutes, to which I reluctantly agreed. I said ten more minutes was really our limit.

Ten mins later we were approached and told it would be another ten minutes but we were offered a discount, I requested that I pay for the drinks we had already consumed and the food be put into takeout boxes so we may take it with us.

Ten minutes pass and a new staff member approaches to tell us unfortunately due to an error our order never actually reached the kitchen it would be another 25-30minutes but they were VERY sorry

At this point we all equally agreed as a whole that this was no longer worth listening to the cheering and screaming football fans while waiting on food that truly didn't exist.

As much as I would've loved to have tried what seemed like great American style cuisine, I left with a bad taste in my mouth and ringing ears from the football fans.

So the two stars go to the lovely waitress who kept us well informed, she did all she could I'm sure but sadly it seems there is a functional issue somewhere within the venue.

And as such, with only poor experience to go on

I will not be able to review or offer any advice on good food at the venue. I can however tell you it's a good sports bar, others seemed pleased.

I can also tell you the staff are incredibly polite, but I can't promise you the kitchen staff can cook, or even exist for...

Had our Christmas work lunch yesterday as a table of 17. Couple of initial mishaps as our table had been split into two, and crackers weren't out on the table for our arrival, however, this was handled really professionally and with a smile by the staff. They found a solution to the table issue and got us all sat together which we were really happy about. All the cocktails were delicious, particularly the pomegranate margarita and espresso martinis. Staff kept up demand for cocktails really well despite being so busy. Food was delicious, everything cooked to perfection, with particular attention to the fact we had 3 steaks with each person having ordered it cooked differently. They commented it was cooked exactly to their liking. Turkey dinner was really good, turkey not dry at all and a good amount of vegetables. The sausages in blankets were really nice too, not the cheap small ones you get in most places! The manager, I think her name is Ashley, was really helpful throughout and when it came to paying the bill which we split. She ensured that we were happy with our service and the food, was always really accommodating and clearly works really hard. We would have liked to heard some christmas music, or any music but it wasn't very easy for us to hear this sat up the back of the restaurant. This is the start of their festive season with lots of customers to feed and make cocktails for, and we appreciate that even when there were a couple of mishaps or mistakes that they were taken care of quickly and professionally by the whole team. We love going to badenochs as a team for nights out, and we all visit independently as well. We will definitely be back! Thank you for letting us start our Christmas celebrations with you, even though we are loud and drink the bar dry! Hope the badenochs staff get to enjoy a good Christmas night out too,...
