I absolutely recommend this place! The food is unbelievably the best italian I've had in a long time! The taste was unreal, so tasty and the quality of food was fantastic! We have been to many Italians and by far the tastiest we have been too! We originally went next door but they didn't serve pizza for my son, we came her by 2nd choice, I'm so happy I found this place. I already can't wait to come back! The service was excellent, staff were very friendly and happy to help with any questions we had. I'm not much of a drinker and thought I'd try this cider and is now my new favourite drink! It's not too sweet and the flavour is lovely. If I had to give advice to make it even better, please put spaghetti bollognese and a linguine dish to the menu to make the choice even more difficult next time. The atmosphere was very nice, we came in just after 9pm and we were able to get fitted in without a booking and loved the decor and ambience of the place especially with having our 11 year old son with us. Thank you so much again, and we will be back in February again! I also have to say the price was value for money we had been to nandos for lunch and our dinner was slightly cheaper! Couldn't believe it! It was much more affordable, and the taste was unreal.

Dining at Barolo Italian Bar & Kitchen was a truly authentic experience. The pasta, in particular, stood out – cooked to perfection, just as it should be in Italy, with that perfect al dente texture that defines great Italian cuisine. Every dish felt as if it had been crafted in an Italian kitchen, staying true to tradition and flavor. The wine selection was absolutely delightful, pairing beautifully with our meal. One thing we all noticed was that some dishes were a bit on the salty side—perhaps they were prepared with seawater, or maybe that’s just how they’re meant to be in Italy! Either way, it added to the authenticity of the experience. Desserts were simply outstanding, and the coffee? Absolutely perfect. The espresso was rich, bold, and exactly as a true Italian espresso should be—strong, smooth, and satisfying. If you’re looking for a place in Glasgow that brings the heart of Italy to your table, Barolo Italian Bar & Kitchen is definitely worth a visit. We will be back!

Disappointing breakfast at Barolo! The coffee was nice, food was edible, the staff were pleasant, and the place is clean. However, that’s where the positive part of our visit ends… it was £8.50 for a small slice of sourdough cut into two with a tiny amount of avocado smushed on them with two cold poached eggs on top served on a wooden plate that was like an old chopping board. The cooked breakfast was £10 with one horrible sausage, cold eggs - it should have been half the price for what was served. The ‘sourdough toast’ was just plain white toast which was cold with ice cold butter portions which were hard to spread- we were not told of the substitution from sourdough either. We did eat all the food as we were hungry, but we did inform the staff at the end and they did nothing - don’t even know if they told the kitchen. I would not recommend this venue, sadly. The french restaurant up the road is much better. Shame, as the decor is nice and it’s close to Glasgow Central station.

Arrived asking to be seated outside if that was ok ,nobody else was outside however it was a balmy 17 degrees in Glasgow and it wasn't yet raining. It was 6.20.

I ordered a glass of primitivo and drank a little and reviewed the food menu. I ordered the frutti di mare pizza at 16.95 fair enough. It was very soggy I get pizza napolitan style but this was just soaking up the tomato and seafood water that had arrived with the pizza which was not blessed with the fruits of the sea it promised calimari king prawns and mussels.and something else that I have forgotten (and clearly so did the chef)

It sounded delightful but I got a few reheated cooked prawns so seriously bouncy, 5 maybe six small mussels absolutely blitzed and overcooked , the shells were cracked and missing parts and the look was bad , but on top of that I was not expecting those bits to be scattered in with the rest of the pizza crunching through a bit on each slice , wow !

I told them the waitress that was serving me said ooh I will tell the chef ,to which after after 45 minutes of not being seen by anyone I went into the restaurant asking the bar staff if it was possible for someone to serve me. My waitress came back apologizing and said the chef and general manager were informed and they will be sure to sift through everything in the future. I ordered cheesecake and another glass of wine well I had been there a good hour and half and more.

The cheesecake was still missing 25 minutes later to when again I went in the restaurant asking if my waitress could serve me. I got my pudding and I was soggy and from a jar which had been in the be fridge ,fair enough again it's cheesecake it go's into fridge but 30 minutes to get it.

I paid bill when I was able to get service again and the they had taken off a wine and did not charge for the pud so fair enough( 25 quid when it should have been closer to 40) on that but not really the point to agree to pay the prices for the food and to get two things from a restaurant good food and service both did not live up to previous high standards of customer service I have seen at Barolo or in fact some of the food which I have tried here.

I left it was 8 50, I got a rather condescending/sarcastic sounding and you have a lovely evening

I was very disappointed , the intention had been to come in chill after stressful day and was left with a bad taste in more ways the one . I wonder if I...

Right now, you’re in glasgow and you’re looking for somewhere to eat. We were exactly where you are now. We spent 4 days in the city and could not be more unimpressed by the customer service in the hospitality industry. HOWEVER on our last night, we visited Barolo, and OH MY GOD I couldn’t recommend this establishment enough. We ate Thai, Chinese and local the nights before and not once could any restaurant accommodate any of our requests or specialty requirements. Not once. We paid through the nose for a lacklustre service and not what we wanted. It really put a dampener on our city break. We arrived at Barolo ahead of time so not inline with our booking and the staff were unphased. We asked for off the menu dishes and they happily obliged. We requested specific requirements and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. As a veteran traveller and a man who is against negative reviews for the sake of them, I urge you to visit Barolo if you visit Glasgow. If you go there first you will not notice anything different from what you’re used to, but if like us you visit here after 3 other places from previous evenings, you will appreciate their attention to detail, beautiful food and “nothing is too much” attitude. Absolutely, unequivocally and without hesitation we absolutely recommend Barolo to any city travellers...
