Over priced and horrible food!!!
Ordered a regular breakfast without mushrooms tomatoes
a bacon roll with the fat removed
& toast and scrambled eggs with 2 lattes and a flat white coffee
We were extremely disappointed the breakfast was wrong had tomatoes and mushrooms told the waitress she looked at me with disgust and said if you want I’ll remove them not replace as I can’t stand mushrooms and tomatoes so as the place was busy I decided just to remove them myself to find a puddle of brown water under them and didn’t eat much of it after that as everything looked like it had been deep fried dripping in grease apart from the eggs which were burnt on the bottom and wasn’t nice atall
Onto bacon roll ordered with the fat removed had all the fat on it and when asked different waitress to rectify it was ignored and on further inspection it had fat all the way through so it didn’t get ate
then scrambled eggs which where under cooked and the toast was cold again when complained about it was told it was because they were free range eggs & the mother in law said they looked like powdered eggs and where disgusting
Drinks where wrong which they rectified but 2 where lukewarm
And after that the bill came to over £40 because they had charged for the coffees which where wrong then for the replacement ones when I asked for the receipt had to wait 15 minutes and saw the mistake which they argued over before reimbursing me for them
So the bill came to just under £35 and we left virtually full plates on the table and empty stomachs absolutely disgusting worst I’ve...
Read moreFood was good and reasonably priced. My partner is a vegan, was pleasantly surprised and delighted with the range she was given! I loved the FishTea deal, really good value and made all the more better with freshly cooked, breaded haddock! I’m reading some reviews saying it’s expensive - seriously people?! At these prices and massive portions, it’s a great deal! I’m from Newcastle and I can tell you Comfort Foods is a bargain for quantity and quality in food. I do, however, have 2 complaints: 1st complaint - we waited ages for our drinks (nothing complex, just a Fanta and Still Water) that arrived 10 minutes after we were eating - half-way done and parched. 2nd complaint - there seemed to be only one staff member, running about and checking on the customers including taking orders, whereas there was three of them huddled around at the counter chatting away, especially with two staff members on dishes. No doubt that was what delayed our drinks being served. Overall all, good food and great service. Only complaints was the wait on the drinks and pity for the lone staff member running around like a headless chicken, whereas the others just stood at the counter engrossed in their conversation; certainly seems more important than actually attending to...
Read moreWhen we first say down everything was pleasant enough girl took our order after asking 3 times each person what we wanted she read it back to us and she missed my sons food so I told her, we were given an eye roll for that but I ignored it, our drinks were brought out by someone else but only 3 of them, that wasn’t a problem she fetched it right away it was then the girl who took out order started mouthing off about us, and staring over, then our food came over, my sons first everything fine then mines and my husbands, his food was slightly wrong and mines was fine one of the missing items was brought out , but yet again the girl started mouthing of and her and the other young girl started looking over, she kept on and on, I’m surprised the whole cafe didn’t hear, by this stage I was fuming I couldn’t even eat my food, my husband didn’t even have his toast brought out, I have never came across waiting staff so incapable, rude and unprofessional! The two other women who were serving were nice enough but with that girl the damage was done. I’ll never set foot in that place again, probably the worst eating out experiences I’ve ever had and funnily enough as we left we overheard another customer that SHE served had...
