From the moment we stepped into hazel the service was impeccable. The staff greeted us warmly and promptly seated us at a beautifully set table. Our server Bronwyn was attentive and knowledgeable, enthusiastically recommending dishes based on our preferences and dietary restrictions.
The menu was diverse, offering a variety of options that catered to all tastes. Each dish we ordered was presented beautifully and tasted absolutely divine, showing off the chef’s attention to quality and detail.
What truly set this restaurant apart was the attentiveness of the staff. They checked in on us regularly, refilled our glasses before they were empty, and ensured that our dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable. The manager even made rounds, asking for feedback and sharing interesting details about the restaurant’s sourcing and preparation methods.
We also appreciated the ambiance of the restaurant – it was inviting and well-maintained, with a lovely decor that complemented the overall dining experience. It was clear that every aspect of the restaurant's operation is executed at a high standard.
In conclusion, hazel provided a flawless dining experience that exceeded our expectations. We left feeling thoroughly satisfied and valued as customers. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for top-notch service and a memorable meal. We can’t...
Read moreI’m never a fan of writing bad reviews, but this almost ruined an expensive night for us. Staying at the hotel for a concert, we popped in for a bite to eat before heading out. My husband explained I was vegan, asked what vegan options there were and even cracked a joke about my being vegan. They then gave me bread with cheese baked in the middle (the vegan option on the menu). To make matters worse, we had even called back to ask if the butter was vegan - it wasn’t. I was immediately sick and could no face eating anything else, which was lucky because the main dish, a salad I had ordered, was the most unappetising and uninspiring thing I’ve had out in front of me. The food, without the complete ignoring of dietary requirements and requests, was completely unappetising. The waitress then proceeded to leave my main on the bill - id eaten two grapes - and although she was apologetic, we still had a £60 bill and I felt ill all night! Absolutely terrible standards for a hotel.
Funnily enough, later that night we were invited into the Moxy hotel and I was chatting with the staff there- saying how hungry i was because of the incident earlier, and he made me a vegan pizza!! Which was amazing and so...
Read moreI really wanted to love it, it's my namesake after all! But it's really overpriced and just not up to the standard that it should be for those prices. The butter with the bread was completely solid and unspreadable (seems small but if you're paying over £100 for a meal for two these details matter). The pork belly was quite weird and there was just too much miscellaneous looking meat kind of smushed together, pork belly should be melt in the mouth and delicate! My friend's fish was pretty good and I was jealous. The chips were nice enough but the oil came out with every bite. We didn't order a steak because I couldn't believe you had to pay an extra £3 to have a sauce with a £25+ steak. Drinks were quite nice. Service was nice but I didn't get the impression the staff were well informed of the menu. It was not professional enough to be fine dining, but not friendly enough to be fun. There are so many really decent options in Glasgow. We were at the dapper mongoose last week, similar price point but absolutely no comparison on the quality of food and friendliness and knowledge of staff. Won't be back to Hazel unless I go to nick a napkin with...
